Ragin' Cajuns Football 2026: Hot Takes Thread! 🏈

Alright @ThREDsNation, it’s that time of the year! The 2026 Ragin’ Cajuns Football season is right around the corner, and we need to get the hype train rolling.

Before we officially set up the tailgates, it’s time to put your boldest, most unapologetic predictions on the record. We don’t want your safe, heavily researched consensus picks. We want your HOT TAKES.

We are looking for your 2026 Ragin’ Cajuns Football opinions that are:

  • Unpopular: Tell us what the majority of the fanbase is completely wrong about.

  • Fast & Gut-Driven: Go with your initial instinct. Don’t overthink it and leave the heavy proof at the door.

  • Bold: Throw the stats out the window. Give us something wild that ignores the consensus.

  • Provocative: Say something that will spark a massive debate, start an argument, and maybe even ruffle some feathers.

Drop your most explosive hot takes below. We want the predictions that will make people react. Let’s hear what everyone really thinks before kickoff! Geaux Cajuns!

NIL transfers be damned, the group of running backs we have will play with a chip on their shoulder and outperform last year’s group.

Both lines underperform and we struggle to put teams away because of it. Still think we win more than we lose but I dont expect us to win any games comfortably.

Lunch learns to slide: 8 plus games won.

Lunch don’t slide: 4 plus games won. Maybe.

Our backfield needs pass support

I have some optimism about the OL. With all the injuries last year, many guys received valuable experience. DL is something I do wonder about.

We lost to Tech by 24.

We will have a 100 yard rusher in 8+ games.

Lunch rushes for over 1,000 yard and throws for over 2,000 yards on the season.

Band will no longer perform “Sunshine” or “Jambalaya”. Cajun/zydeco musicians will perform our National Anthem. All band members will be required to pass weight and conditioning tests. Black socks will not be worn with shorts

The infamous UL commercial we’ve seen for years will be shown and the kids, now adults, from the commercial will lead the team out of the tunnel for the Herbert Heymann Classic. A new version of the same commercial will then be shown and the new kids will be introduced to the crowd.

We finish the regular season 9-3, a three game improvement from last year, with losses to Lamar, LA Tech and ULM.

Those two SBC West losses keep us from playing in the SBC Championship game.

Im not sure how much of a hot take this is but single game tickets “as low as $30” is laughable. I look forward to partying with all 4,000 of you at our home games.

  • Unpopular: It’s not a question of if, but who we lose to that we’re really not supposed to.

  • Fast & Gut-Driven: We will stay healthy and compete for a conference championship.

  • Bold: We throw to the tight ends, and this running back group will impress.

  • Provocative: Nothing will change this year as far as fan experience, attendance, stadium experience. So, expect more of the same complaints. However, the new AD may make things interesting for 2027.

Jambalaya/Sunshine is part of our pregame tradition whether you like it or not.

I don’t, but thanks for the reply…

Yep. I’m good with Jambalaya.

Cajuns vs Marshall sunbelt championship

Cajuns finish the year 8-4 and 2nd in the West behind Troy.

Dez wins a Bowl Game.

Cajuns beat LaTech in a thriller.

Werent these same tickets $20 a month ago? Did we really raise prices on something we couldnt sell during the “new stadium” year?

IS SSJR faking an injury to not participate in fall camp?

Per KATC, Sampson is out with a hyperextended knee injury.
