Just over two months out from football. Have not seen any effort to sell season tickets at all once again anywhere. Different experience for any of you?

I think the university is good with football slowly dying, and I’m not being some overly dramatic teenage girl with that statement. It’s just frustrating that we’re spending all this money on Cajun Field upgrades is the death is being allowed. We should have just let the stadium die with the program.
Already looking forward to baseball season. Thank God for Coach Deggs and Coach Babs being as active and visible as they are promoting the program.

I was about to post a critique of CMD and our athletic department but deleted everything because it doesn’t even matter. We could crank out a 10 win+ SBC championship season and have our roster pillaged and fall back down to another 5 win or less season immediately after. The current state of college athletics makes it hard for me to care. Building and retaining a competitive football team in this era is too cost prohibitive. Staffs probably feel like they’re underwater year-to-year before even thinking about how to convince Boudreaux and Thibodeaux to come to the game. Shawn Elliot and Kane Wommack stepped down from G5 HC roles to become P2 assistant coaches. Much less responsibility for same or more pay.
What I fear is that our athletic department feels the same, especially with the budget crunch.

This is where I’m at. I can’t bring myself to care anymore. I’m going to show up more often than not but I no longer care about wins and losses or investing anymore of my bandwidth into how the program is being run.

I gave up my season tickets in the new seats on the West side and nobody contacted me.
Why should I pay double for something that has zero demand? I’m tired of that shit. I’m getting general admission season tickets and sitting wherever I want in an empty stadium like everyone else

Reading Troy Wingerter’s Facebook posts, I think they should hire him in a season ticket sales role. I think he would be the perfect person to get out into the community and push ticket sales like the HUD days.

To shed a little light on the staffing situation, there is currently one person left in the ticket office.
That’s right. One.
With recent departures, they have people across athletics doing 3-4 jobs. The fan experience will suffer. Check out the article below for a better understanding. There are 35 open positions listed on the athletics site.
I would expect that this is normal for those who live a corporate life in a large company. Sure is for me in my 25+ year career with a large Oilfield Service Company.
My only hope is that the right people are kept. That is not always the case unfortunately.

I just maintain the $110 end zone tickets for the family area and sit where I want. I wanted to move to the West side, but why would I pay those ridiculous prices even in the West side corner by the Hill they are $250 a piece and it is completely empty there. A better price for those seats in Section 128 and 129 would be $150 a ticket all inclusive and make that the family area because most families would want to sit next to the Hill there so they could watch their kids, but what do I know???

The only sport we have that seems to have a clue is baseball. I guess the realistic chance of playing for a national championship changes coaches perspectives.

Lots of season tickets for sale. We are flush with supply and limited demand. The rules of supply and demand say prices should decrease, but we don’t like that rule.

Good point.
Decrease the prices, get them in the stands. At least make another family section. You can’t see shit behind the endzone anyway. A family of four will spend money on food and drink to make up the difference. You get them there for cheap, pack the stadium, and then supply goes down and demand goes up. We have to get them there first. Do they not understand basic supply and demand?
