Sorry to beat a dead horse, but did they really raise single game ticket prices?
I would swear they were $20 per ticket a month or two ago.. we were making plans to buy a bunch for first home game and bring a group.
Iāll eat my crow if theyāve been $30 all offseason

I would take 10-2 but would hate to lose to La Tech.
10-2 would be fantastic and on paper you see a weak strength of schedule that can get us there. However, games arenāt played on paper, and we have a lot of new guys stepping into starting roles. Getting to 10-2 means the team has managed to stay healthy and the coaches have got this team rolling. Iām not ready to make a bold 10-win prediction based on the previous body of work.

At what point does someone do the analysis on revenue generated on money spent at the game and how that compares to where ticket prices are?
I know one thing that is very easy to analyze. $0 revenue gain when one chooses not to attend game because of ticket prices.
Dont get me started on the empty parking lot.
Here is a not so hot take: Cajun Field parking lot will be 30% full for every game this year.

I havenāt heard of a Ticket tax, so I want to know more about this.
Sorry, donāt check this much. It was imposed by the state and local government in the middle of last season. Hence the increase in season ticket portion as well. I wasnāt involved with the exact conversations at the time. Something to do with āLarge Sporting venuesā, I believe, canāt directly quote me on that. But all I know is that is implemented from state/local government.
While I am here, I will clear the air. This is a common misconception. The NY Mets (who I hate with a passion because I am a massive Phillies fan), did a somewhat of a social experiment which came down from their owner, where he gave FREE tickets away, for fans to claim. All 1500 tickets were claimed within an hour. I believe it was around only 35% of fans who actually attended the game, who claimed a ticket. Free/super Cheap tickets, does not always mean higher attendance believe it or not, and there is plenty of data to back this up. Also, it drives people away from purchasing Season Tickets. Season tickets with us on the 50 yard line are $165/ticket or (breaks down to $27.5/game). For Single game tickets they are $42. Tickets in Section 113 are $110 for the entire season, which breaks down to roughly $17/game. To go a step further, chairback seating on the 50-yardline is $500 for the season, which breaks down to $83/gameā¦sells for $112 on single basis. If you offer lower single game price tickets, this will take away from value of having Season Tickets. Now, for Season Tickets we also offer payment schedules, where you can sign up in say, January and pay all the way until August 30th, breaking up the payments, that way it doesnāt hit all at once. Also, with all that being said, we have heard our fans regarding ticket pricing. This year we will have a discount ticket offer of āRagin 15ā, which is offered for families, university faculty, and a special group of āfanaticsā. These are limited to certain sections and available 2 weeks prior to each home game, so make sure to take advantage of the offer while you can and its still available!

I just dont like that we gear everything around season tickets.. Yes, they are clearly the best value but you just arent going to sell many of those in this town. Lafayette is a āhey, we got nothing going on and the weather is niceā kind of market. I dont know many people who can go to 6 home games every year to justify season tickets.
Also how much is this tax? Flat rate of $10 or 50% ?
Thereās also plenty of data to suggest that raising prices without the corresponding demand wonāt work. Can you give us an idea of how many season tickets have been sold to this point in comparison to last season?
I recognize that you are making an effort, and it is appreciated. Fielding questions and entertaining discussions on a message board is Iām assuming way above and beyond what you are expected to do in your role. I hope you also get some value from these conversations. Youāre getting a direct look into the minds of a few of the few who havenāt walked away from supporting this university.

Certainly, I read here and there. Iām a man of the people, and anyone who calls themselves a cajun fan are my people. I will fight tooth and nail for yāall. Certainly, there is data behind raising price of things with demand low will show a decline in attendance. Absolutely. But we are in a day and age that we, especially I have to battle with the comfort of peopleās own homes. Iām a sports fan myself. Would I rather be on my couch watching 6 different games than out in the 100Ā° heat? Absolutely. But there is still value in being there. There is value in being live and in person. And we have to show that value with putting on a good atmosphere. Iām sure anyone on this, that was there, can recite exactly what they were thinking and saying when Brett Baer made his field goal in the New Orleans bowl. We need more lifelong memories made at Our Lady of Lourdes stadium. Im not going to Ruthās Chris to pay Ruthās Chrisā prices for a Texas Roadhouse quality steak (although who doesnt love Tx Rd house, lol). The lowest season ticket price in 2012 was $96, ours is $100 today. The lowest priced single game ticket in 2012 was $25 or $20 (for select games), ours today is $30. A $25 ticket in 2012, adjusted for inflation in todays money would be $36.
