Section D 15 1&2
@RaisingCajun not sure if you seen Billy String in Nola December 4 and 5.
I sure did. I would love to see him at the Saenger. But you have to buy tickets to Smoothie King show to be eligible to get tickets at Saenger. We are on the fence if we want to try and do both. I’m not a huge fan of arena shows anymore. Guess I’m just getting old. ![]()
Wife and I saw him at Civic Theatre a few years ago. It was one of the best shows I have ever seen. We also had tickets to see him and Markus King a few years before that and Covid happened. I’m still bummed to this day that the show was canceled. Its was the same weekend as Jazz Fest and they were advertising that they were going to have special guests with them. I can only imagine what they had planned.
I definitely understand feeling old. The smaller the venue, the better.
I’m thinking about getting tickets because the pricing isn’t bad at all. Likely wait till closer to event to decide.
This is my vibe now. Nothing I like more than acoustic music. This was last night at Whiskey Tales in Henderson. 12 Stones acoustic show.
love this album
That’s a name I haven’t seen in years. Underground kind of day?
Just hip hop mix on the treadmill. Brother Ali is always in rotation though. He’s a favorite of mine.
more people need to listen to Turnpike.
Well, raise another round, boys, and have another glass
Be thankful for today knowing it’ll never last
And let’s leave the world laughin’ when our eulogies are read
May we all get to Heaven 'fore the devil knows we’re dead
@RaisingCajun i was recommended Molly Tuttle by a coworker. Seems up your bluegrass ally.
Molly Tuttle is great also.
Another recommendation if you like her is Sierra Hull. She is a mandolin prodigy.
Her husband Justin Moses could be one of the best bluegrass musicians I have ever seen. He is a Swiss Army knife of bluegrass.
I was lucky enough to see them play at Jazz Fest a couple years ago with Bela Fleck on their My Bluegrass Heart tour after that album released.
Appreciate it. Going to check them out.
New addition to the vinyl collection arriving Monday
Another vinyl coming
Another new vinyl coming. Might have to put this one on after a night of drinking.
Where do you get your vinyl?
I have a couple coming from RSD being shipped in from T-Bones Record Store and Cafe in Mississippi.
My last 2 online orders were through Discogs from a record shop in Pennsylvania.
Two weeks ago I picked up George Straight Greatest Hits for $10 at Peaches in New Orleans. Also got Wayne Toups Zydecajun - Johnnie Can’t Dance at Louisiana Music Factory.
Tomorrow I’m going to an estate sale where I saw an old record player & some vinyl in the pictures. Then heading to Moonchild after the spring game.
