What we listening to today?

Moonchild has very good prices on their vinyl. Did you hit up the Black Friday sale back in Nov? 50% off all their vinyl. That is the only place I’m going Black Friday shopping now. haha

I wasn’t able to make it to the sale. When I first started collecting, I got lots from the friends of the library sales. Picked up a good bit for a quarter a piece.

Check out Slap Dragon. On a few songs out currently. Current songs have more of a pop feel. Live at Festival International this weekend, they were one of the best bands I have seen in a long time. Very new band. They have the potential to make it big.

Found a 45 in my garage sale haul last weekend of Harper Valley PTA / Yesterday All Day Long Today but it’s cracked. Ordered the 2022 Record Store Day version of the album that should arrive Monday.

The story behind this song is a good one.

Bought tickets this morning to see Blues Traveler in Lake Charles this weekend. This will be the 2nd time I have tickets to see them and hopefully the 1st time actually seeing them.

They have been on my list to see since their early days. I love me some harmonica & John Popper is one of the best.

Might have to consider that one. Bought their debut on CD for $2 last year, and I was really impressed. Just one of those bands I had always known the couple songs of and not given a full listen.

In a certain way, there were kind of an underground band during the grunge era. Never were super popular because of their sound vs that grunge then hard rock era in 2000s.

They are one of my favorites of all time. Very solid band. If you are a fan of the traditional blues, check out their Traveler’s Blues album they released in 2021.

Would there be interest in a Cajun ThREDs “What we listening to today?” live stream where we stream music from this thread and take requests?

I’m bad about live streams but would be cool to just vibe to a bunch of different music from different folks.

Saw them at Woodstock '94 and have been in love with them ever since. They put on a great ahow

Cajun ThREDs version of “The Box” for us old folk that were teenagers in the late 80s early 90s.

Could be very interesting! You got my vote to give it a shot.

Not a huge zydeco or Cajun fan but seeing Charley Crockett on track 2 is interesting.
