After one weekend, I must say i like the new stadium we are in section 123 and the seats are the best stadium seats i have ever used. Reminds me of the Millinium tree stand seats lol. However this is not what this post is about, it is to gather info about people in the upper levels and their opinion about the speaker noise.
My parents are up in the stadium club seating and my dad literally called me during the game complaining about the music noise. Where I was it didn’t seem bad but to him up top it was a nightmare, did anyone else find that to be an issue? I am thinking with the new stadium the speakers were upgraded and they don’t bounce off the stadium like they did with the previous one.
It maybe my lack of hearing from years of torment or just that I was in the lower section nonetheless he specifically told me “go on your social media and b***h about the noise.”
Thanks for any and all input. Very curious if he is just getting old and grumpy or other people had the same opinion. LOL
They are using the same scoreboard and speakers as previous years. Sound comes from a central location in the NEZ
I would assume any sound system upgrades would come when the East side is completed and sound can be more evenly distributed by placing smaller but more speakers throughout the stadium
I was in Section 123 row 20 and the music (?) was so loud I could not talk to the people beside me. It was entirely too loud and unnecessary. I am not sure who the DJs are trying to cater to but it was not the vast majority of the people at the game. Way too loud and was a distraction from the game not an enhancement to the “experience.”
That is exactly what he said. To the tune of between the music and fireworks he couldn’t hear the fireworks it was so loud. I guess I will be more aware come Saturday and revisit this post.
As far as the music choice the DJ is in the student section so I would assume they are catering toward a younger crowd, our 10 yo was loving the music, myself i am a CCSN person so i knew some song but not many. I could see them playing more “hype” music then Conway’s greatest hits just because it is a football game however the volume should be put in check so the experience is more open to all.
It was the first game back so maybe they will adjust as the season goes on.
your dad wasn’t the only one complaining, trust me. numerous people sitting in our section was complaining about the noise level. i had to literally go into the concourse to talk to the person sitting next to me because he couldn’t hear the story i was telling him about his old man. at least the commercials didn’t blow out my ear drums like in the past.
I think you really need someone up in the duck blinds with a feel for the flow of the game, not just a DJ playing songs off a pre-selected playlist
When fans are looking at each other puzzled as to why we’re playing “Celebrate Good Times” when we’re fighting for our life in the 4th quarter against Rice……. you might need to lift your head up and read the room
How about more Cajun and Zydeco? The vast majority of the people complaining are the same folks that give the most money. Yes, I’m old and grew up listening to rock music and several C&W singers. But the DJ in the stands is a step too far for me. So yeah, get off my lawn Mofo.
But by all means, lets play more rap/gangster music to attract more fans.
YES…..imagine being a young recruit and take a visit to cajun field and the only music they play is cajun/zydeco…THEY WILL think man that place is wack. Now im not saying lets just play hip hop, but sprinkle in some 80s/90 rock with hip hop and call it a day.
Exactly, most of the generation that will carry on the Cajuns pride likes the music they play. Now, if they throw in some80’s hair metal, 90’s grunge and tracks from The Plaza’s heyday then Cajun Field would be rocking!
The type of music is whatever in my opinion, like I said earlier i think it is catering to a younger more energetic crowd. The main issue that was brought to my attention was the volume it was played at and also (i did not originally post about) was the timing of the music which I did notice to an extent. By timing i mean we were on offense and the music was playing up until UL snapped the ball then went silent…not much for home field advantage if the home team is having issues calling the play. Just my two cents.
Whether its Boosie, Lil wayne, Rock n Roll, blink 182, pink pony club, I do not care I just know that some of the people that were in the stadium club and lower levels were pissed about the volume.
Maybe it would be help to get someone on the tunes that pays a little more attention to what is going on during the game.
