They’re also a completely demoralized, super impoverished society. Lift the embargo and begin working on a friendly relationship. This was another Obama policy that was correct, imo.
If you’ve been shot at, blown up or have had to take violent action against the enemy, it’s safe to assume one can become an isolationist.
But I suspect it has more to do with being the pawn or Israel. We should absolutely sever all ties with Israel. They have provided the US absolutely zero benefit and are a drain on the US taxpayer.
