Since I’m a leftist now…here are those radical views.
term limits on house, senate and Supreme Court
Remove pardon power from president
Limit executive order power
Cap election spending and get rid of super pacs.
All elected officials kids should have to attend public schools.
Age cap. If you are a day over 65 you are ineligible for public office.
Free lunch for ALL students
Insurance/health care in this country is a scam and needs to be fixed. I don’t know exactly how but it’s currently a joke.
Free speech absolutist. Speech has consequences but you should be able to say it.
If you are a law abiding citizen you should be able to own whatever gun you want. But I also think every gun owner should have to take annual safety courses.
Currently we have a shortage of teachers, nurses and doctors…these jobs should be eligible for tuition reimbursement. If we have a shortage of other professionals, we do the same.
Strengthen our ties with Canada and Mexico.
Cut spending by 5% across all areas of federal government. Military budget should get an even bigger cut.
Our idiot governor can have his Ten Commandments put up in every class as long as the tenants of Buddhism, Islam and satanism are next to it.
I didn’t know we were a country founded on the principals of Islam Buddhaism or satanic principles? However I do agree with most of what you are saying. Just a few you got wrong in my opinion.
PS I don’t always agree with our governor but he has lowered state income taxes and brought more industry hear than any other governor that I can recall in just a couple years.
This happens with every Governor that come into office in Louisiana, at least in recent memory. Blanco, Jindal, Bel Edwards…all announce all these huge private investment projects coming to Louisiana within their first couple years in office. Then later down the road, said investment is greatly reduced, or doesn’t happen at all.
So we’ll see with Landry if all the things that have been touted over the past two years actually do come to fruition, or if it ultimately is the same story as the previous three governors. Would be nice if he didn’t support his trial lawyer buddies always looking to sue the crap out of those who have and are already investing in Louisiana.
In all sincerity, I wish we’d get more into local politics in this folder. The shit that’s going on in Louisiana right now is laughable, even compared to the typical banana republic BS.
ngl going to local town hall meetings are entertaining as hell lol
We recently had a meeting about an old hotel site on a major city street that city officials signed off to turning it into lower income senior house but everyone wanted it to be a multi commercial building since the entire road is commercial properties. It was everyone vs the board and them trying to defend it was freaking comical. Then we had one chick on the side complaining there weren’t enough trees in the town lmao
It really is amazing what they try to do because they expect the residents not to attend, know or care about these meetings. I’ve been going to LCG meetings for 20 years and the shit that goes on still astonishes me.
Local and state govt will always impact you more than federal ever will. It’s just not “sexy” and will not general clicks like the federal level. I definitely wish more cared about local govt
Limit executive order power Nope, POTUS is elected by the whole country.
Cap election spending and get rid of super pacs.
Agree
All elected officials kids should have to attend public schools.
It might work that way to improve public schoools.
Age cap. If you are a day over 65 you are ineligible for public office.
Yep
Free lunch for ALL students
Yes

It has to be more competitive to bring cost down and service up.
Free speech absolutist. Speech has consequences but you should be able to say it.
Yes

Agree, but annual safety courses is overkill, no pun intended and is not needed.
Currently we have a shortage of teachers, nurses and doctors…these jobs should be eligible for tuition reimbursement. If we have a shortage of other professionals, we do the same.
Agree, lets get a Med School at UL.
Strengthen our ties with Canada and Mexico.
Agree, but the drug cartels must be dealt with in totality, militarily.
Cut spending by 5% across all areas of federal government. Military budget should get an even bigger cut.
Agree, but Military needs to do some catching up before imposing a larger than 5% cut.
Our idiot governor can have his Ten Commandments put up in every class as long as the tenants of Buddhism, Islam and satanism are next to it.
Expanding Islam in this country will be it’s undoing.
With you on most of this but the fraud and waste in Medicare is real and it’s most perpetrated by the private sector. The only real competition is who can scam the insurance companies and exploit the people more. The current system is bankrupting the middle/lower class in this country.
We should amend the Constitution to include term limits on all federally elected officials, along with maximum age limits [maybe 70-75] for serving as a Congressman, Senator, Federal Judge or any other federal employee of any kind.
Additional Constitutional amendments should be passed to limit bills introduced in either house to a single issue; to provide that no unelected federal agency can make any regulation which has the force of law; to provide that Congress shall pass no law providing preferential treatment for any person or group, including all elected and appointed federal officials and the agencies they work for, and specifically including both houses of Congress..
The same can be said for Medicaid. If you started investigating the private providers of both Medicare and Medicaid services you would find loads of fraud, waste, and abuse.
I think if you do some of those things, you’re going to be left only with those who are uber rich serving in Congress. Working class folks should be able to have an avenue to represent their district, though I understand we may want to do our best to keep out the Sheila Jackson Lee and Clay Higgins types who would never be able to sniff a six figure income without being a politician.
I think they should be allowed to “participate in the stock market” via having an IRA account that is managed by a third party, but being able to call elections and options while in Congress, no facking way.
