Alesi’s Building for Sale

Can’t say I didn’t see this one coming. Loved this place since I was a kid, but their standards have fallen off a cliff since Covid. Unfortunate.

Dam my family has been going there since the 60s. My grandmother is going to be devastated

Yeah I think most people who still go to Alesi’s are the families that have been going for years. I had hoped they would turn it around, but I stopped going for myself in the last couple months. Order a pizza, and they’d put no sauce. Ask for extra so they actually put some and it’s drowning. Just started going to BJ’s. On a good day for Alesi’s, BJ’s can’t hold a candle to them, but it was just too inconsistent.

I haven’t been since 2022 kinda dont want to since I rather remember it for its glory. I really like Central pizza the others places in lafayette put too much crap on a pizza for my liking.

Mark and Mari just don’t run it like the old man once did.

Finally found someone who agrees with me. I called that “Lafayette Pizza”, little sauce and tons of toppings. That’s not real pizza but Central is the tops in the area. I actually enjoyed the chains like Lit & Blaze because I could limit the toppings.

Sarricas makes some very good, very simple pizzas

Alesis will always be the GOAT pizza in Lafayette. Really upset to learn this. I think a small Alesi’s (Pizza Only) drive-through would kill.

Ive heard great things about them.

I’ve never been to Alesis. With so many mixed reviews, I really dont feel the need to try them myself.

With that said, its always a sad day when long standing local restaurants close or sold.

Don’t bother. It’s terrible.

If you want to maintain success you have to constantly keep your finger on the pulse of your customers, old and new. What worked years ago, might not work anymore. A lesson admins at UL could learn as well…

I’m sure being outdated hurt Alesi’s with some people, but at least for me, that wasn’t the reason to stop going. It’s because they WEREN’T doing things the way they used to. Quality control just wasn’t there. Too many options in Lafayette now to be that inconsistent.

While I cannot argue that Alesi’s pizza consistency has fallen in the last few years, it’s still my go to slice. I ordered my usual 12” Pepperoni & Black Olives (well done) tonight and it absolutely slapped!

When Alesi’s is on, it’s my favorite by a mile. Pepperoni and jalapeño. Another underrated option was their meatball pizza.

A few months ago, I was told by someone that they had one of the best burgers in town, so I gave it a shot, even though I’ve had terrible experiences with everything else there in the past.

The burger was a rubbery, overcooked mess with, I KID YOU NOT, cherry tomatoes instead of slices of tomatoes. All I could do was laugh.

Just give me a Cajun Executioner or a Landry Special.

Or a T-Rex or a Dupe …

JJs in Broussard for those who like thin crust. Always get ham and cheese salad as a side is a meal by itself.

JJs is great if you dont mind waiting 45 minutes for your food.. No complaints from me as we are used to it and plan accordingly
