Just got confirmation it’s happening for real, adjacent to Rouses on Camelia. Construction bids are out.
Have any of yall gone to Natural Grocers? Place freaking rules
I’ve only gone twice, I usually stick to Rouses/Super 1/Albertsons. I’ve never been to a Trader Joe’s but I know it has a cult following.
I work at the corner of Ashy and Verot, so def looking forward to Trader Joe’s opening. Gunna be a regular there during the lunch hours.
As far as regular grocery shopping goes, it’s 80% Sam’s and 20% Super 1 in Scott.
Its not often but wife and I will drive across the Basin to go to Trader Joe’s. There are specific things that we like there that we cannot get anywhere in the area.
We stopped about a month ago on our way back from NOLA from the Poirier fight. Loaded up with meat for the freezer mainly.
I sometimes hit up Natural Grocers on my Costco runs. Will be able to do the same with Trader Joes
What do you guys pick up at Natural Grocers? Does the Natty Lite taste better there?
Lol. It’s not really a natty lite type of place. It’s similar to whole foods and fresh market but not as big
Lagneaux’s Country Store in Judice is the place your looking for ![]()
I used to go to TJoe’s in Houston when I was there on a regular basis. I liked it a lot, but that was before Covid. Not sure if I can put up with the “cult”, though doubt that will be significant here in Lafayette. I’ll definitely go once open and check it out.
Trader Joe’s has a pretty solid frozen meal section. We always keep a couple bags of orange chicken and things like that available for a quick meal.
I’ll never cheat on Aldi
100% agree. Frozen meals are great if you like oriental or Indian foods. Saw a video last night where someone did some orange chicken fries. That is on my list to do very soon.
Aldi has much less of a selection & many items are their one day and never again. Dont get me wrong, I like Aldi as well. But I cant count on getting a lot of the same items over and over again.
This is main deal breaker for me trying to convince my wife to do weekly grocery trip here.
Keeps me guessing, which is the trill.
I dont disagree. I like seeing what kind of new products they have each time I go. Sometimes the new products are so good I want more and they dont have.
Aldi Aisle of Shame is the best shopping aisle of any store. Its like digging in a treasure chest.
Unfortunately they are getting rid of the self checkouts
Self checkout at Aldi? No self checkouts on the Northside. Just the kid speed checking and throwing items in my basket.
Literally throwing
