Figured it deserved its own thread. Thanks to @UL_Cajuns for bringing this up in the general chat. Report back if someone sees it in the wild.

It looks officially licensed, unless you just makin’ jokes on the (non)communication dept at UL.

Whats the difference between these Beers, post says Urban South makes it. But this one says Bayou Teche.

This was what I was talking about.

Who on this forum works for Schilling? We need a delivery to Cajun Field out the back of one of your trucks please. I will be dressed like a Sodexo employee.

Bayou Teche stopped producing the Cajun lager and ales years back, and it coincided with them dropping distribution. I doubt Bayou Teche guys would file a lawsuit, and I would almost assuredly say they would give it their absolute blessing. Karlos is like the grandfather of LA brewing, and he’s highly respected and connected.

Where did you see this posted? Or do u have a link? I want to find where it can be purchased?

Hmm. Interesting.

It was last page of the most recent La Louisiane magazine. I haven’t seen it anywhere. I can reach out to the Urban South folks and see if they’re distributing.

Please do.

I will say, if it’s anything like their Paradise Park (but with rice), that’ll be a nice sipper.

Back before Louisiana politicians relaxed some of their laws so that Bayou Teche could serve and sell their beers at their place directly to the consumer, I would stop by every now and then when working in St. Landry Parish, and Karols and Byron would give me free bombers of different beers they were trying out. One of them ended up being Cocodrie, which was a damn good farmhouse style IPA.

Agree.

I’m a urban south - paradise park fan so I’ll have to give this a try.

Awesome. Yes can’t wait to try it. So I guess Bayou Teche quit making their Ragin Cajuns American Ale.
BTW this advertisement was in UL’s own magazine. So it’s legit. Hope to try an Urban South one at The Lady next weekend.

Anyone try Paradise Park Light since OG Paradise Park was mentioned?

The Paradise Park light is very good when your on the water on a hot day.

Enjoyable to drink under the camp filleting specks and eating boiled crabs that slept in Caminada Bay the night before.

I loved the Bayou Teche one.

The similarities in the can design makes me wonder if Urban South bought the rights from Teche.

Yep. Because Bayou Teche stopped distributing their beers outside of their brewery, it became necessary to get this made through another brewery

will taste different I would assume the old one was an Ale and the new one is a Lager
