It may be because we truly need a backup to Lunch now. Lunch keeps starting, and you have him as backup just in case. with Lunch’s style of play of scrabling and running alot, we need all the qb’s we can. Beale obviously can’t get the job done so it is what it is.
So maybe Uncle Wa Wa plays maybe he doesn’t but will be ready to be the backup.
If anything is going to get Lunch hurt its going to be the playcalling. Des does not need to run him as much as he is doing. We have a stable of backs that are more than capable of touching the ball 25+ times a game.
There is zero reason Lunch should have more carries in a game that our 3 RBs. Simple as that.

I love Lunch, but he’s not as good as Walker. I also know that Walker will likely take another week or so to get back into it.
Not sure where walker’s head is at but I’d much rather have Howard 2 more full years and a whole year and a half in the offense learning.
Would be tough for Walker to lose his medical red shirt, if he played the last games and then Lunch hit the portal too…. Coaches need to play wise here.

Yeah this is gonna be a shit show. Lunch will inevitably have a three and out, as every offense does, and the chants for Walker will come pouring in. Switch of QB mid game and all rhythm will be thrown off. Not to mention, Walker wasn’t even that good lol we’re doomed man
Hard to come to that conclusion after 1 game with countless dropped passes by WRs. We cant give up on Walker yet. Just dont want to see him lose a medical redshirt on this season. Lunch has proven that he can give us a chance to win. Give him the rest of the season.
Now, if Lunch goes down and Walker is healthy. That is a huge decision to make. If we are not in a position to win conference title at that time, my decision would be to go with Beale or Altmann.

It’s really a shame because I felt like we never really gave Lunch a shot until now, and he’s been good. But as soon as that happened, of course WH is healthy.
