I was saying this, I think he got hurt on the 4th down play and it didn’t make sense how he got hurt non contact afterwards
I’m not trying to speculate or anything and have no insider info but for some reason, before the snap he went down, the way he set up caught my eye. He might of did this earlier in the game but before the snap, he kind of twisted like he was stretching and grabbed at his left side/hip. I believe that’s also the area he was grabbing as the trainers looked at him so idk about arm injury. But like I said, I have no insider info, just what I happened to see. Anyone else notice that?
Regardless of who starts. Dez has to put them in at least a position to play at least mediocre. If you can’t find a way to get creative with an elite running game, decent OL by getting the ball out quick or causing confusion on their defense…..you shouldn’t be running the offense/ calling the plays.
One of my family members just told me that Walker has a torn internal abdominal. They got this information from a VERY reliable source. They have not determined how severe it is yet.
On Sunday, I heard it’s a torn oblique and out 3-4 weeks. Not sure why they are keeping it so under wraps. It is what it is.
3-4 weeks for a torn oblique? Maybe strained oblique? A full tear i would think he’s played his last game of the season
Why rush to announce anything? What benefit does it give UL? other than making Schultzy shut up
They haven’t released anything because a final diagnosis has yet to be made.
Guess he will get a medical red shirt if he is out all season. Thus preserving 2 more years of eligibility, but he may want to hang it up.
Walker has officially been ruled out. Beale will start against McNeese
time to WATCH BEALE COOK
Hell who knows, with a week to mentally prepare he might play well. Especially getting reps with 1st team
Beale is going to be good. It might look sloppy for a game or two, but he’s got the goods.
Agree, I see some arm talent there
Feel bad for the guy. Especially given that he needed a shot at redemption (the whole offense, really) that he won’t get this year. Hell, he just wanted a shot to play meaningful football, and it didn’t last 60 minutes.
This is CDS in a nutshell. High expectations coming into the season, transfer QB helping with the buzz. Lose the first game to a team you should not have lost to and lose the QB in the process.
Sometimes you just smile and shake your head.
At least Des has experience with playing just about every QB on the roster in a given season. It’s really incredible. It would take some extensive research but is it a safe bet to say that the Cajuns in the last 3+ seasons have made the most QBs changes due to injury than the rest of the FBS?
EXACTLY….. I remember seeing this on RaginCajuns.com a while back…. Hella stats….
“Ranked as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and On3 … a four-year starter for Catholic winning three state championships … earned all-state and Offensive MVP honors as a senior leading Catholic to a LHSAA Division I state championship … threw for 2,974 yards and 39 touchdowns to go along with 202 rushing yards and seven touchdowns as a senior … threw for 360 yards and four touchdowns and rushed for a touchdown in the 2023 state championship game … broke six school records accounting for 2,623 yards and 42 total touchdowns as a junior … led Catholic to a 12-1 record and the LHSAA Division I state championship after throwing for 2,003 yards and 17 touchdowns … holds the school record for most passing yards and touchdown passes in a single game, season and career … accumulated 8,756 total yards and 119 total touchdowns in his high school career.”
Word around the water cooler is; Howard’s rehab is going great, he is way ahead of schedule. Potentially, will be available in a week or two.
Why burn a medical with the season almost over.
Why would we want to rush him back? Why would he want to rush back? Because we are 1-1 in conference? Haha
Or maybe he will call his own plays? That is the only reason to bring him back.
