In talks with donors at JMU, the President & AD are in alignment on advancing athletics - most SBC schools have not shared the “athletics as the front porch of the university” vision. This was bound to happen.

For all intents and purposes, we are in D2. We should be the Auburn to LSU’s Alabama, but since the 80s this university has rathered watch all the other peer Universities take a chance while we stew in the Sunbelt juices. Where we are is where we’ll forever be. Amen

I can’t speak for the other schools, but I do not believe Nicholls has the financial capacity to move up to FBS. Their athletic operating budget is only around 12 million. Plus their stadium would need major upgrades
