Just because they work their butts off doesn’t mean they aren’t pathetic. I find that they take away from the game experience. At least on TV I don’t have to listen to it or watch their garbage halftime shows
Then go be an Ohio state fan or something. I didn’t spend 4 years with the program and most of my time at UL for a bunch of old guys that probably never touched an instrument in their life call them pathetic. Idk. I’m done with this
I think ohio st sucks as well. Just because you have 100 to 200 people that can march in formation and play an instrument doesn’t mean it isn’t isn’t garbage. I’m sorry you worked your butt off for 4 years just to find out how terrible POA is. Your dedication is appreciated, just not your music and entertainment.
stop. just stop.
Also that would be about 500 additional people.
however, the DJ keeps playing the music when the teams are trying to do a play, and playing the music too loud.
I was in marching band. I still play musical instruments. Three of them. I know a bad band when I see one. I think one issue is, the players in the band have no idea of how good and how much PRIDE the band once had.
Also, why is a 55 yo guy the student section “DJ”
The band is the least of our problems this football season honestly
Actually, I couldn’t hear the band during those times but the dumbass DJ running the speaker music had that shit blaring as our QB was trying to call a play.
Moron.
We were in the NEZ the whole time and it was pretty tough to hear the band.
We enjoyed the song selection from the DJ. It was definitely weird that Howard is under center trying to call out blocking assignments and music is still playing.
Also - our impeccably bad timing on doing “fun” things right after a turnover still lives on.
I agree, the band is the least of the problems. I apologize for calling them pathetic last night, I was still pissed at the pathetic football performance. With that said, this type of band is just not my cup of tea. Coming from a highschool where the band was awesome and entertaining to myself is hard to watch and listen to. I much rather a entertaining band such as the HBCU bands and highschool bands such as Peabody, Northwest….etc. But I’ve dealt with it for the last 25 years and will continue because I love our University. Thankyou to the current and former band members that devote their time in trying to make a good game experience. I will just continue to hate it in my head and not be vocal about it
@cajuns22 I want to apologize to you specifically for my incoherent rambling about the band last night. I do appreciate the effort
Because he is a DJ on Hot 107.9, i.e. Townsquare Media.
Well, that’s a terrible choice
Townsquare Media has fricked up local radio enough in Acadiana. Someone needs to keep them the hell away from Cajun Field.
I was in the band here too, and I have no problem calling what I saw last night pathetic. No uniforms for a night game, 80 degrees at kickoff, is an absolute joke. They’re smaller than I’ve ever seen them (not the kids’ fault) and they barely played any stands tunes last night. I think the latter was a calculated decision. It is sad where the “Pride” has ended up.
I don’t know if it was because mcneese brought their band and they were in full gear, but The Pride of Acadiana showed up and did their thing. Once again not the kids faults, but the bare minimum from leadership here. Nice job, let’s not revert now.
The POA got drowned out by Mcnesses band. It was pathetic and no excuse is good enough.
McNeese’s band played constantly all game and it added greatly to the atmosphere.
Honest question- Does their band have better physical conditioning? Or is it something else?
