Wish I was watching game with my military family DIL. She played four years soccer at Miss St and really helps me watch and understand game. She’s living the good life right now. Loves these games played at a high level.
this is an augly game.
Awful performance to say the least. I was hoping to sneak 1 more win out but it was not in the cards this World Cup.
Need to make some personal changes for sure.
Ironically setting up exactly how FIFA wanted it to.
Rundown of our experience in the Dallas area.
-Monday went check out The Star first. They had goals setup with groups playing on the turf in the plaza. As we were leaving, staff were picking up the goals for people to setup chairs to watch the match on the big screen.
-Watched the match at the FC Dallas Soccer Celebration in downtown Frisco. Nice setup that filled up fast. No empty seats under the tent an hour before the match. We found a table outside on the edge of the crown in front of the big screen. Nice experience except for the people who have no sense of their surroundings & just stand up randomly during gameplay blocking peoples view. The staff gave out cooling towels which came in handy at our baseball games.
-Got around to FIFA Fan Fest at the Cotton Bowl on Friday afternoon. This setup was huge with multiple large viewing areas. Sponsors had large setups for full experiences instead of just handing out freebies.
-FIFA stores were EVERYWHERE. Even Albertsons had some FIFA gear to sell. Our favorite spot was ProRel Soccer Shop in downtown McKinney. They have a crazy amount of jerseys to sell. Not only international, but many USL1 & USL2 jerseys. Plus they have tons of McKinney Chupacabras gear. Went multiple times but on Saturday there was a guy from England hanging out to watch their match & the owner was offering everyone free beer.
-Everywhere and I mean EVERYWHERE was showing all the matches. Watched parts of France/Morocco at Gas Monkey Ice House. Watched parts of Argentina/Eqypt at Soccer City Lewisville while shopping, the owner is Egyptian. Watched parts of England/Norway at Chop Sports (restaurant we do not recommend).
Sounds like a great time
