Non-UL Sports

Thought about it this weekend while watching rugby…

What non-UL sports are you all watching.

Braves baseball and international rugby are the only ones I watch outside of UL.

I know we have rodeo and soccer guys here but any other odd ones?

I like watching Six Nations on weekend mornings. WBC has been great as well.

Soccer and hockey are my regulars

Six Nations games Saturday were damn good. France v England was best match I’ve watched in a while.

It was great that the title could’ve gone any number of ways in the final round. Very competitive this year.

It’s straight baseball from now until college football starts. Cajuns and St. Louis Cardinals. Interested to see how their young players do with getting their opportunities during the rebuild.

MLB:

  • Braves baseball will always be our #1 watched sport outside of UL events. If we are home and there is a Braves game on, its likely on the TV in our house.

Soccer:

  • Houston Dynamo - Dont follow them as close as I did a few years ago.
  • Son and I will glued to the World Cup this summer. Would love to make it to a game but dont think its in the cards this year.

NFL:

  • Saints and an occasional Houston Texans game.

NASCAR:

  • Saints have been so bad the last few years, I’ve found an interest in NASCAR on Sunday’s

UFC:

  • Been following the UFC since the early 2000s. I will watch most cards but they are starting to get watered down with so many events

Used to watch a ton of UFC but like you, it’s watered down so much that I only tune in for fights I want to see. Only fight I watched this year was Christy Judice.

Carli Judice?

Numbered events are really the only ones worth my time anymore unless there is someone like Carli on the card that I have interest in.

Got the judice right. :joy:

And I knew exactly who you were talking about.

Personally, I think Carli could have used a few more local/regional fights. But, with that said, I know it was almost impossible to find her a fight. Rightfully so. Not a lot of men would want to get in the rig with her. She is a beast!

Great hands. If her ground game keeps improving she will be a contender.

one ufc issue I see is rushing people up. Seen it with Bo Nickels recently.

Bo Nickal is another one that is in the same boat as Carli. No one wanted to fight him. UFC actually made him fight on the Contender Series twice before giving him a contract.

Rushed, maybe. He is wrestling is so much better than 95% of the fighters, he will just have to do a whole lot of on the job training.

Astros and the World Cup

Astros/Saints. I do wonder if that is the most common fandom in this area for MLB/NFL. I know the Braves were always on TV around here, I had family members who were huge Braves fans.

One unique thing that I found myself getting into a while back was professional darts. That stuff gets wild across the pond. Crazy atmosphere with pro-wrestling like walkouts.

I’m 100% a Braves fan because of TBS. I became a very young fan in the early/mid 80s when they were winning 30 games a year (exaggeration). But I loved baseball and they were one of the few teams I could watch.

Same. My mom and brother were huge fans and that on top of tbs, made me a fan. I didn’t know of any local Astros fans until college. All the guys I played ball with in rec league were Braves fans.

Mostly dominated by Astros baseball this time of year until football season starts then it is the Saints. Have been following a lot of NFL draft news this year, including mock drafts.

UL first, Saints fan, and pro-wrestling. While not a true sport, you can’t deny they have some impressive athletes.

Outside all things UL, nude female wrestling is A plus.

I primarily watch the Denver Broncos play outside of UL, other than that I watch NASCAR sometimes.
