Bourbon Hunting in Cajun Country

Just picked up a bottle of Penelope Creme Brulee & a Peerless toasted. Both great bottles I just need to stop going to NuNus they hit my wallet every time.

My last pickup was an Old Forester single barrel barrel strength from Rouses. Probably best tasting bottle OF I’ve had.

Bullet Rye is my regular for making Old Fashioneds. But when I want to spoil myself, it’s Garrison Brothers. Not sure if they’re distributed in Louisiana. Someone should if they’re not.

Elijah Craig Rye is my personal favorite for an Old Fashioned

I have a couple bottles of Old Forester Birthday Bourbon at home. Been sipping on it sparingly. Some very good stuff. Highly sought after on the market.

Total Wine has Garrison. It’s a great bourbon.

Just passed last night TW had 4 bottles of Caribou Crossing. Not a huge fan of it but it is hard to come by.

The two Grab N Geaux gas stations on Verot at corners of S College and Beadle both have multiple Bookers and Little Books, also saw some Blantons.

They’re selling the Little Book at 197 and Bookers at 167 I think. No wonder they’re staying on the shelf lol.

I’ve tasted my fair share of bourbon, and as far as I’m concerned, there ain’t much fuckin difference between an $170 Weller 12 year and a $30 Woodfords. Buzzed all the same. A fool and his money.

Yea, I’m not spending McElligott Club money on 80-100 proof bourbon. I’m more willing to open the wallet up for higher proof, but not $170 for Bookers lol.

I can’t wait for cooler weather because my favorite sipper is Sagamore Rye Sherry Finished Cask Strength. But for some reason I made the habit of only drinking it when it’s colder weather, so it’s something I look forward to.
