Unpopular opinion here, but I normally don’t care who has the best smoked boudin. Exhibit A is Peto’s in Roanoke. Smoked boudin tastes great. Regular boudin is better than say…Texas, but garbage by St Landry/Evangeline/Lafayette Parish standards.

Best Stop has delicious smoked boudin, but I haven’t tried the smoked from all the places listed here. Regular boudin: give me Kartcher’s, Nunu’s and Billy’s over Best Stop.

Best Stop’s boudin balls are great and on point.

Smoked? Best Stop, not even close.

Growing up in Mamou and eating boudin there was different than what you get here. I find boudin here doesn’t have any liver in it.

Here is another unpopular opinion or 2. Don’t give me smoked boudin or boudin with pepper jack cheese.

Both are gimmicks to make an extra buck. Your boudin is either good or it’s not.

I agree with this. I don’t want cheese in my boudin. Also not a fan of seafood boudin.

I don’t mind smoked boudin at all, but it’s not how I judge if a place has good boudin or not.

Seafood boudin’s ok with me at times, but it is much drier.

Who’s got the best Chicken Cracklins?

Billeauds

Charlie T’s

Where’s that?

Breaux Bridge.

I dunno if it’s because they were the first kind I had, but Kirk’s U Need A Butcher chicken cracklins are still my favorite.

Best pork cracklin goes to Billeaud’s easily.

I was going to do a poll on that next, but Kirk’s is the 100% correct answer.

Ranking boudin and cracklins is like ranking burgers and pizza… at the end of the day, I’m still gunna smash any and all of it, gas stations included.

Man i tried Kirks last year and wasnt impressed. I may have gotten a bad batch.

We must have had the same batch from Kirk’s. I was not impressed at all either.

Only 11 out of 70 voters? Tragedy.

Billeaud’s does have good pork cracklins. I’ve never been a huge fan of chicken cracklins. Tasty, but they don’t seem to “crack”/crunch when eating them. A bit too soft for what I want to call a cracklin.

Billeaud’s is criminally slept on.
