She was my student producer in the 2nd half! She did a great job.

Wreckin’ Rams. Golden Bears. For the District 3-5A title.
Tune in to Wreckin’ Ram Productions tonight at 6:40pm!

WHAT’S AT STAKE

With an Acadiana WIN: The Rams would secure another outright district championship, the 14th in the last 20 years. Also, the Rams (currently #17) would secure a first round playoff game at Bill Dotson Stadium.

With a Carencro WIN: The Bears would secure a share of the 3-5A district title, along with Acadiana and Southside. Also, the Bears (currently #16) would secure a first round game at the Cro Dome.

It’s one of the oldest and most recognizable rivalries in all of South Louisiana football… Who’s gunna come away with the bragging rights?

A lot of 2 way athletes for Carencro. Control the line of scrimmage and do what Acadiana does. I see Carencro getting worn out and Acadiana winning this one in a tight game.

Damn… Safe to say I know my team

49-35 Rams is my gut feeling. Carencro scores late to make the score respectable, but Acadiana controls the action throughout. It will come down to turnovers.

7-7 at the half.

Not your ordinary air horn……20+

Acadiana (7-3, 7-0) secured its 14th district championship in the last 20 years with a dramatic 21-14 win against their biggest rival, the Carencro Golden Bears (6-4, 5-2). Both defenses played extremely well, as it was a 7-7 game deep into the 4th quarter. 3 touchdowns were scored in the last 4 minutes of this game, ending with Darryus McKinley forcing a sack/fumble to seal the deal. Add another incredible chapter to this massive rivalry.

But wait… there’s more.

This Friday night, the #14 Wreckin’ Rams will host the #19 Carencro Golden Bears at Bill Dotson Stadium, in the first round of the playoffs. Yes, you read that right. THE REMATCH IS ON. For the 3rd time in the last 4 years, Acadiana and Carencro will meet in the playoffs, for the ultimate bragging rights of ending their rival’s football season.

More info to come Friday morning! #GEAUXRAMS

Well… let’s do it again!

The #19 Carencro Golden Bears will travel to Bill Dotson Stadium for the 2nd Friday in a row, to take on the #14 Acadiana Wreckin’ Rams in the 1st round of the DI Select playoffs. Last Friday, Acadiana beat Carencro, 21-14, on a last minute touchdown to secure another outright 3-5A district championship.

However, many will argue that Carencro dominated the game. And here’s why:
Total yards: Carencro 363, Acadiana 286
Passing yards: Carencro 244, Acadiana 53
Rushing yards: Acadiana 233, Carencro 119
Time of Possession: Carencro 26:37, Acadiana 21:23

So, what was the difference for the Wreckin’ Rams? One answer is simple… Darryus McKinley. The LSU commit was named the GeauxPreps Defensive Player of the Week, with 10.5 tackles, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble on the final play of the game.

But there is also another unsung hero that no one is talking about, and that is Wreckin’ Ram punter Josh Marquez. Marquez punted 3 times last Friday for 115 net yards, good enough for 38.3 yards per punt. He virtually flipped the field, keeping the ball away from electric return man Brandon Duffy, and downing 2 punts inside of the 20 yard line. Carencro’s average starting field position was the 23 yard line, and that is a direct credit to that young man and the Acadiana special teams unit.

It’s hard to beat a good team twice… Can the Wreckin’ Rams do it again?
Tune in to Wreckin’ Ram Productions tonight at 6:40pm to find out! #GEAUXRAMS

Acadiana completed the season sweep of their biggest rival with a 29-21 win in round 1 of the DI Select playoffs. Like the previous Friday, this game was a dogfight throughout, with Carencro holding a 14-9 halftime lead. Acadiana received the second half kickoff and immediately responded with a strong drive, resulting in a 26 yard TD pass from Collin DiBetta to RB Dion Simon to retake the lead 15-14. Acadiana would go on to score 20 unanswered points, and led 29-14 in the 4th quarter. Carencro would score a touchdown with 2:45 left, and force the Rams to punt, but was unable to then drive the length of the field with 40 seconds left and no timeouts.

Game stats
Total Yards - Carencro 333, Acadiana 235
Pass Yards - Carencro 270, Acadiana 60
Rush Yards - Acadiana 175, Carencro 63

Acadiana will now play #3 St. Augustine Friday night, 7PM, at Tad Gormley Stadium in New Orleans. More info to follow on Friday morning! #GEAUXRAMS

A little late with this response, but…
during the Carencro @ Lafayette High game earlier this year, the idiot with the air horn backed his truck right up to the fence and blew it (not exaggerating) literally 75-100 times during the game. Often at the most meaningless times when there was no need to blow it. I’m all for blowing it when they score or make a big play, but sometimes Carencro would get a 2 yard gain and be penalized for a false start resulting in negative yards and the horn is blowing like they won the state championship.

For those not familiar, this isn’t a regular hand held airhorn. It is an air horn hooked up to a vehicle that is equivalent to what a train would use.

It reminded me of when a 2 year old kid says something funny and an adult laughs so then the kids says it a hundred times in the next 5 minutes expecting a laugh, but instead it turns into the most annoying thing ever.

Good luck to Acadiana next week (and hopefully a few more weeks after).

Clown has been doing that for years.

He also did it during LHS band performance postgame. Not only aggravating and unnecessary but completely disrespectful.

I’m glad I left after the game and didn’t see/hear him doing that during the band’s postgame performance. I definitely would have approached him.

Seems like someone who needs a lot of attention.

He was approached.

I tuned into a couple of the YouTube streams for Acadiana (I’m a Mamou High School guy) and I want to say @NattyDaddy the students at Acadiana are doing great work. Most of us have watched games produced by universities on ESPN+ and I can say the quality at Acadiana is better than some of the broadcasts we’ve seen.
