Doug Dotson actually doing something tonight
Now this is Doug Dotson football
For the record, my previous post was right before the pick 6.
Acadiana dominated New Iberia last night, 61-0, to secure it’s first win of the 2025 season, and the first win of the Doug Dotson era. The Rams move to 1-3 overall, but 1-0 in district 3-5A play. The Rams also made a change at starting QB last night, and for the foreseeable future, Junior WR Collin DiBetta will be taking the snaps. Next Friday night, the Rams will travel to Sulphur, and take on a struggling Golden Tors squad #OnceARam #AlwaysARam
The natives are already getting restless as NISH
That’s been a bad program for over a decade now. It might be time to “pull a Comeaux” and sneak down to 4A, or possibly even 3A.
They won’t even be able to compete in 4A. Local travel football pulls all the athletes to other schools.
NISH doesn’t deserve to be in the conversation with the juggernaut that is Comeaux.
Had a few starters leave the team this week. In order to rebuild you need a few players to lean on and it doesn’t look like they have any of those athletes.
Westgate gets most of the athletes in New Iberia that want to play sports. All the others are probably involved in gang activities!
Acadiana dominated Sulphur on Friday, 63-0, to move to 2-3 overall, but 2-0 in 3-5A. This is the second shutout in as many games, as the Rams are outscoring district opponents 124-0. The Rams implemented a two QB system, with junior Collin DiBetta and senior Ty Lamartina taking snaps, and both having impressive touchdown runs. Also, senior transfer Travis Gallien played his first snaps of the year, after winning his eligibility appeal with the LHSAA. This Friday night, the Rams will be at home vs Barbe for homecoming, as they look to get back to .500 overall #OnceARam #AlwaysARam
Gallien should be getting more looks than he is right now. He can make an impact at the next level.
6’2, 200 lbs, and can flat out FLY. He’s gunna be a steal for some lucky college program.
Speed is deceptive for a big guy. He is not afraid to put his head down and play a little football.
Where did Travis Gallien transfer from?
Teurlings
We’ve got a pretty good QB down here in E-rat.
Actually, Erath and Acadiana would be a good game.
Looking forward to watching Acadiana come to Southside as well.
That’s always a good one. Southside is a well coached team.
I’m looking forward to calling the game from that new stadium!
On 10/10, the Rams played the Barbe Bucs at Bill Dotson Stadium for homecoming. In what was an offensive explosion, combining for over 1000 yards, the Rams hung on for a 49-42 win, moving them back to .500 on the season (3-3), and 3-0 in district 3-5A.
On 10/17, the Rams played their oldest rivals, the Lafayette Lions, at Bill Dotson Stadium for senior night. The Lions kept it close through 3 quarters, but the Rams pulled away late, beating Lafayette for the 19th straight year, 42-21. This win moved the Rams to 4-3 overall, and 4-0 in district 3-5A.
This Friday, the Rams face the talented Southside Sharks on the road, at The Reef in Youngsville. Southside is 6-1 this season, and is undefeated in district play as well. The winner of this game will move on to face Carencro in the upcoming weeks for at least a share of the district 3-5A title.
Tune in Friday to Wreckin’ Ram Productions on Youtube, where I will be on the play-by-play call! #GeauxRams
