5,000 True Fans?

It appeared as though about 12,000 people had to pee in the middle of the 3rd quarter, but strangely didn’t return to their seats…

I am one who always STAYS until the clock shows 0:00, but I certainly had my excuse cued up last night. We did decide to stay and were so glad we did.

But why was it a thought? The product on the field the last 4 weeks, the play calling by the high school head coach, the apathy of a lot of us that are just emotionally exhausted and upset that there is nothing we can do about it.

But we pay for season tickets and those kids on the field deserve to see the fans STAY!

A famous quote I’ve heard before….. “Victims make excuses, leaders deliver results”…. Well there were 12,000 victims last night and a great Cajuns team with grit who proved to be leaders and delivered results.

Nice comeback win…. A lot to still fix on both sides of the ball AND on the sideline.

Fans need to STAY!!!

The 5k of us that stayed to the end witnessed one of the most exciting games I’ve ever seen. It was loud and rowdy, and I think the few and the proud really made a difference in OT

I have given up hope on the fans. Every single game no matter the score there is a mass exodus at halftime. Student side was full until half, then empty after.

I am very happy to say, my son, who is a Junior and Greek, stayed on the hand rail until the team sang the fight song with the band! That kid knows why we go there, supports his team and STAYS til the end!

It’s actually just become the norm over the years. I’d say we lose about 60% of our attendance at halftime. I’m curious if free/open gates in the second half would help? Like the ole’ days.

I left after pick 6. I was done watching. If I’m not enjoying something I don’t waste my time.

Watched the rest from comfort of my couch.

And you call yourself a fan… hahaha… just kidding.

Owned in the Game Chat thread and I’ll own it again here. Left when we went down 17. Probably the first game I’ve left early in 15 years. I had a 5 AM flight to catch this morning, and I was already wiped out as my kid has had the flu this week. For shame though. Should’ve just stuck it out like I always do. I certainly didn’t get any extra sleep, as I stayed up to watch the end and then was too keyed up to sleep right away. At least I got to give the kiddo a hug before bed and before a 2 week trip. Should be able to start my streak again against Southern Miss and hopefully not leave early again for another 15 years.

It be like that sometimes lol

We’re by far not the only fanbase that would have had a mass exodus when it got to 34-17, especially after that ESPN highlight of the DL-man rumbling down the field to the endzone.

Problem is when you’re only starting with about 15k butts in the seats, that mass exodus makes the stadium look completely empty when the team makes a comeback no one expected.

I can only imagine what the click jockey will have to say about the fans this week with a win like that.

fack that hack

While I wonder what he will say, he is not getting a click from me.

Acadiana is full of click jockeys thanks to Townsquare.

As a true fan that watched every snap in person, I’d like to say our new uniforms are too baggy. They just don’t look as good as the previous ones.

Few observations from last night.

-Stadium was very loud with the few fans left at the end. Imagine how loud with a full house!

-Middle aged DJ looked lonely at his table when the student section cleared out.

-At the 2 minute timeout of first half, cutting the light show & music just as the song hit was idiotic & killed any vibe that was starting.

-Quit doing the damn light show for a made FG, save that for TDs only!

-What happened to the new song for 4th quarter light show? You ask for suggestions, run a poll, then don’t play the song. Huge waste of time!

The facking smile cam immediately after Marshall scores on a long td run. I know it’s scripted but come the fack on. Then they play some bullshit song about celebrating on Marshall’s kickoff after that score. Read the facking crowd . If our fans are smiling after that shit then our fans are idiots and don’t give a fack about the game

Edit: F u c K not fack

Most fans that I know that left really regret leaving that game now. I don’t blame them. If you pay for a movie you usually do not leave until the end. Don’t know the point in spending all that money to stay 2 quarters, but still happy to have those that came and left any day.
