What we listening to today?

Shit. Sounds like you on tour.

Gotta put those funds I’m not wasting on the Cajuns to good use…

My dad has this cassette in his car when I was a kid. A black Geo Metro. You could feel each and every pebble you hit on the road in that little car. The earliest music I can remember hearing. Still love this album. Found it used on CD at a shop in Houston today. The album is heavily inspired by Browne’s break up from Daryl Hannah. It’s kinda a return to form for him, as he had written mostly political stuff in the 80s. Of course, I didn’t know any of that at 4. Just catchy songs that I requested to be played each time in the car.

Great song. I can see where a break up with Hannah would send a man into reflection.

All Sturgill till album drops…

Same man. I think I listened to the first Johnny Blue Skies record a dozen times over the last week.

Such a good damn album. Have a playlist with all his albums and all the albums he’s produced for other artist.

Am I the only one that likes the Johnny Blue Skies albums way more than Sturgill’s?

I love all of them. Metamodern Sounds is my favorite. It’s up there as an all time favorite from anybody. Sound & Fury and Sailors Guide are next for me but every album is different.

High Top mountain is more traditional country and you see his sound evolve a lot after it.

Might as well mention The Ballad of Dood and Juanita. Great story telling album.

Gotta love Pantera. When everybody else started turning to Grunge, they were like, Hold my Beer, and went balls to the wall harder.
