Big one tonight! Cajuns sit at 2-2 while USM is 3-1 in conference. Don’t ask how these standings work because it doesn’t make sense. All that matters is piling up Ws!
Edit: Went look it up. For conference tournament purposes, Cajuns are 1-1 while USM is 3-1. Only division games matter when it comes to who makes the tournament.
PACK EK LONG TONIGHT! I can’t be there due to football but I’ll be in attendance tomorrow for sure! Plus, you will be able to bid on more of the Acadian flag jerseys this weekend.
Another split this weekend for volleyball. With three weekends left, the team is currently the 5th seed in the west. With the way it works, only the next two weekends (Arkansas State & ULM) matter for seeding. The final weekend against Ga Southern has no bearing on seeding for the conference tournament.
Here’s how attendance looks throughout the conference:
Marshall - 958
Texas State - 849
Louisiana - 760
Arkansas State - 664
Ga Southern - 592
App State - 513
South Al - 463
James Madison - 449
Coastal - 426
Southern Miss - 347
Troy - 276
Old Dominion - 258
ULM - 151
Ga State - 84
Last chance to see the team in action is against ULM.
Wife and I plan on being there Thu night. It was our 1st volleyball game last Friday and she had a god time and asked to go back. Can’t make it Friday because of work.
Tulane is a case study on what we could have and should have done with our football program, especially after the momentum we had post Hudspeth and into the Napier era. And before anyone says, “Yea but they’re private and rich,” I’m not talking about how they funded the program. Look at the decisions they made with the stadium. Their football hires have been perfect, on consecutive occasions. Their media and branding have been elite. Their attempt to engage their hometown fans has been very impressive. And then of course, they’ve won games when it mattered most.
Tulane was a graveyard for football and gameday environment just 10 years ago.
