I remember some years ago, Troy brought their band. I even think it was half their band and their brass BLEW the POA out of the Swamp. They played hard, punched you in the chest with their sound and were simply intimidating.

Jax St at the nola bowl a few years back was pretty damn good as well.

idk why you would do that because when I was in POA, people were getting into the Jambalaya part. I don’t know if the visual aspect of pregame has changed THAT much since I left but I do recall having a large Louisiana State flag that would come out during “You are my sunshine” indicating that it’s the state song. I don’t know if they still do that. If they don’t, they need to bring it back. I wasn’t able to look at it during performances but looking at the videos it was pretty cool.

Well it’s been the pregame show for a few decades now so it’s not going anywhere.

Well the crowd is going somewhere

Lol- but you can’t confirm if the big flag is still used because you don’t go to the games yourself .

my last comment on the rice game. We were favored an expected to win, and as bad as we played still should have won.

rice wasn’t a good team last year. But they did beat UTSA, navy, and USF(the last game) so it’s not like their roster, especially defensively was void of talent. The Cajuns on the other hand were breaking in a lot of new players under the lights and obviously there were nerves that led to mistakes. I don’t think this is a season defining loss. Time to put a whippin on McNeese and build some confidence. Geaux Cajuns!!! Pump pump pump pump!!!

I agree, but Rice also took in a number of transfers, so this is not the same Rice team as last year. I certainly don’t expect Rice to have a bowl eligible season, but they could very well be much better than last year. We will just have to wait and see how the season plays out for them (and the Cajuns)!

Rice isn’t any good. They won’t win 4 more games.

All the dropped passes are the reason we lost. Period, end of story. Our top goal as a program is now done, we will always be an outside threat at the CFP as long as we are in the SBC. But with the loss to Rice that’s over.

Next goal, recover from that embarrassment and make a run for the SBC title and host it.

THIS is actually the top goal. CFP playoffs?? That’s a pipe dream that we have as fans. Becoming SBC CHAMPS should be the #1 goal each and every year, and the rest is lagniappe.

The CFP is a reality, but we will always need help because the SBC will always be 3rd priority for the G5 rep.

MWC/now PAC and American will always have the upper leg.

Why play all the rap music? Play more Cajun culture type music instead. They played only a couple of songs plus a couple of C&W songs, both being better than rap. We should be catering to the fans not the players.

What was worse was the sideline guy all over the stadium. That was a horrible production and not something you would see at major college games. Wonder why fans quit coming? Overall production is lousy and even a die-hard fan and alum like me won’t subject myself this kind of torture again. The actual football game only made it worse as we were so inept offensively. The defense finally got its shit together in the second half, and we still actually had a chance to win with a FG. But, we shot ourselves in the foot yet again. Perfect opportunity to get the fans excited and coming back and we again blew the opportunity in more ways than one.

And, don’t even get me started on the poor overall building and ground maintenance of the athletic complex. Embarrassing to say the least. It is amazing what is overlooked and acceptable.

Thank you!

As always I get called negative on twitter, but CFP is such a far gone goal especially when you look at teams like Tulane, USF, WKU and Toledo who look really good this year.

We recruit well to win the SBC West every year but we have not proven we can win the SBC on a consistent basis

Focus on the SBC this year and if we retain some key pieces into 2026 “maybe” we can talk about CFP

Some fans want rap music too. It should be a variety.

Exactly. We don’t have the same protections as teams like Notre Dame have like dropping a game to NIU and still make it to the national championship game. It’s an unfortunate reality but all we can do is win as much as we can and keep winning the SBC

It’s not catering to the players, it’s catering to the students and younger fan base. We want to grow the younger fan base and playing certain music won’t do that. Now I agree we should play a variety but rap/ hip hop music will be in the cycle.

Have you been to games outside of Cajun Field lately? I’ve been to games on large campuses the past few years. Almost all of them have a DJ in the student section, a sideline person doing games & giving away prizes, & tons of rap music playing.

Not saying you’re wrong, but large campuses typically have an average fan age of less than 55

I’m going to the Georgia State - South Al game in October because I’ll be in Atlanta for work. Anxious to see what it’s like there. They have the worst attendance in the conference. Wonder what they are doing to get people in the stands.
