Step Back!

I respectfully disagree. The SBC may take a step back in ‘25, but it’s been a steady ascent for some time now. Much deeper than the MW and even AC, in my opinion most years.

It’s not about the depth, it’s about the top tier teams. No one can touch Wazzu, Oregon State, Boise St, Fresno St, Memphis, ECU, USF and Tulane for name recognition.

The SBC will never get there. We should’ve joined TxSt.

I can agree with this. But we never had an opportunity.

Maybe we just need to put our name out there to the Pac 12 that we are the perfect travel partner for Texas State who would support us. If we just wait, nothing will happen.

One can only hope whoever our new Prez ends up being, has a rebellious heart with the understanding that athletics is the easiest path to academic excellence.

Totally disagree.

joining the PAC would kill our budget even more and I would much rather play teams we have history with like USM, Troy abd Tech than flying 1000 miles ever other week to play Utah state and Washington state

Every team you named would jump to the PAC at the first opportunity

They would have the same issues with travel budgets as we would.

Biggest con of moving to the PAC: Having to stay up til midnight to watch games…

And they wouldn’t care..

The potential of taking a next step is worth cutting track & field, womens basketball, etc for a while

That is not a con. Its a pro. Just think how many more Nats you can have.

A 30 rack, you say?

Guys…it’s a no facking brainer here. We get a PAC invite, WE TAKE IT!

You wouldn’t get to watch the games because you’d be having to pee every 7 1/2 minutes.

Thought if you bought a bed pan, or kept some gallon milk jugs handy…

Texas state took a massive reduction in TV money to join the Pac. I think they are getting like 1/3 of Boise state for the first couple of years.

No, sir. Their reduced payout is still much more than the current SBC deal. It is a financial net positive for TXST and would be for Louisiana.

Im sure its more but you are also adding close to 100k miles in travel to your athletic department.

Along with an added perception of ascension and elevation in branding…which is priceless.

Unless you are the one responsible for paying the travel and funding an athletic department. The 4 football games a year isn’t what kills you, it’s everyone else.

I get it thats what Texas State is gambling on
