Well we know WaWa has a little gunslinger in him (which I tend to prefer) and Beale was probably pressing to play. Just guessing, obviously.
I’m sitting at my desk doing research for the show tonight, reading individual PFF grades for each game played in 2024. I don’t think we realize how much QB play bailed us out in the first half of the season despite poor OL play. And honestly, the OL didn’t grade out in the run game much better either. We need a significant improvement across the board this year on the LOS to reach our potential.
The #1 priority is protecting the football. If WH does that there won’t be a QB controversy. BTW Lunch is going to be in packages this season. I believe in Hud’s philosophy, your best talent needs to be on the field.
I want to agree, but man, Howard was apparently highly recruited. I’ve been hoping we landed a dude who just ended up in two spots where he’s caught behind potential All American QBs, but should still give us a QB threat in the passing game that we haven’t had in a LONG time, since maybe Delhomme.
I feel like we need that extra. We will need that extra to win the SBC.
What? Gauthier and Broadway early years could push the ball down field right. I think the opportunities will be there if patient and setup by the play action. WH will need to play within the scheme and moved the chains. There will be opportunities to throw the ball down the field, but that also comes with earning trust as a starter in games.
I loved Jake and hold him in high regard but people seem to forget how many interceptions he threw. He was a gunslinger as well and took a lot of chances. If one of our Qbs threw around 15 picks a year this fanbase would have his head on a stick lol. Bottom line is we need to lean heavy on the run to set up the play action. Not the other way around. It’s a must we grind teams down and minimize the turnovers especially from the QB position.
