A very tasty start the weekend beer in my MAGA glass. Food later. Steaks with smothered potatoes and green beans. If the rain stays away, I’ll smoke the steaks very low and slow a bit before searing. If rain returns, then it’ll just be searing.

Prime NY strip for me. Prime filets for the wife and daughter. I wanted a couple large T-bones, but HEB only had Select cut for those. Letting them hang out in room temp a bit.
In Seaside FL this weekend. Hit up the Day Trader bar and grill.
Got the Pork Loco Moco (pork belly, pork shoulder). Wife got the grouper.

Browning some chicken thighs for a fricassee. Trappey’s jalapeno blackeyed peas and roasted beets (yuck, wife’s request) for the side.
Sounds good. Totally agree on roasted beets.
With you guys on the beets. Not a fan at all.
My grandfather was the only one I ever knew that ate beets. He would eat pickled beets on the side of his rice & gravy.
I must be the only one here who likes beets
