Fire Desormeaux

I’ve been very critical of Des’ playcalling, but I’m not sure how we can say that Lunch’s INT was something that shouldn’t have been called. He had Robertson wide open for a 50 yard gain. He took way too long to find him, and then once he did uncorked an atrocious throw. Lunch has shown himself capable of an accurate longball.

Very clean pocket on that play as well.

He hired Joe Brady and Dave Aranda. Sometimes, a good HC makes the right hires and gets out of the way

Those 6-7 plays don’t prevent you from scoring only 36 points in 3 games against Rice, JMU and SMU

Aranda was hired by Les.

6-7 plays is what stands out but it’s the other 50 or so offensive plays that make the difference. the first series was the only one worth a damn by the offensive.

The 6-7 plays comment left me shaking my head. Anyone with knowledge of football watching our games knows the issues are bigger than 6-7 plays. Apparently, we’re all blind and aren’t seeing things correctly.

Just to add some context, Lunch was throwing into a stiff 15-20 mph wind coming out of the south. Based on that alone, I thought the play call was dumb.

Didn’t the USM QB drop a dime from 50 yards out against the same wind?

A dime? The guy was 15 yards clear of the closest DB. One of us could have thrown that pass.
