If anyone on staff should it would be Munoz but he has never set the world on fire when he did call plays.

Two years ago, I’d have been hesitant to experiment with promoting Munoz to OC. However, with our lack of budget, I think that may be the best option at this point, and we just hope he learned alot from Joe Brady.

Play caller needs to come from outside the program. Des, Leger, and Munoz all not the answer

If we are going to give the OC duties to someone else, do it right and hire someone. Preferably, we should hire someone from the Mike Leach coaching tree or the Paul Johnson coaching tree.

Football scoop (not always best source but they do get it right at times) has him speaking to ETSU OC Cam Aiken about the coordinator job. Aiken is a former Ole Miss staffer and worked with Napier with Clemson. Aiken was also rumored to ole miss bc of his knowledge of the Weiss/Kiffin offense.

Whether we think promoting Munoz from within is truly the right/best move or not, it’s still got to be better than what we’ve seen the past four seasons.

Dez needs to focus on overall game and roster management.

Michigan knew about this for a while and already had their plan in action. They purposely waited until after signing day to fire him. Then it escalated very quickly.

So when does our HC receive such a kick? Hopefully it doesn’t take a firing. I really do think Coach Dez would have a better chance of success longterm if he could focus more on just roster management and overall game management.

I completely agree.

If you are an elite coordinator I understand being the play caller. You shouldn’t be doing it just because you enjoy it.

Apparently on ragin pagin there is a thread about Tim Leger out as OC. So it sounds like Des got marching orders to give up play calling
