Bryant Williams will be entering the portal according his agent Joe DiBenedetto. At least his agent works fan an actual NFL agency.
The portal is not open. So, he just sits? I don’t get it. What’s to be gained?
They won’t risk injury in bowl hurting transfer.
We won’t be a contender for Top G6 program status if we can’t hang on to guys like this. Hunt and others have proven UL can still be a pathway to the NFL for O-Lineman, so if that confidence/perception is gone amongst our athletes, then we better be prepared for 6-6 seasons being the norm.

I think that’ll be case until leadership change. Philosophy of developing players has to change. Roster management is the here and now, not 4 years of development.

Was hoping the early bowl game would help keep guys around at least until Christmas. Sucks to lose anyone. Especially an O lineman. We don’t have many.

We can develop a guy in 1 year….then BOOM, portal.
Year to year. Juco and portal have to get hit hard.

We don’t live in a vacuum. If we are doing our due diligence, we should have a list of names from FCS schools and maybe a few guys from P4 schools looking for playing time. What we can’t do is throw a tantrum like a toddler and do nothing.

Correct. But if you have NIL money you can keep players from transferring or pay players to come in from the portal. Idk our current NIL budget for football. But I know it’s not a top 10 or even 20 g6 level.

I’ve heard its around 400k
With that amount you would think your top dollar you can pay your best players is like 20-25k maybe.
yeah prolly 60-80k tops if you really wanna retain that guy
