Transfer Portal 2025

But you give your QB 60k, your RB and WR will want 50k. So on and so on. You’ll only be able to pay like 10 players at that price point. I’d think you would have to at least pay your starting 22 something.

Y’all are all worried about NIL dollars. Just wait until Maggard finishes tallying up the millions we raked in from Giving Tuesday.

and CFP payout

For reference, Terrance Carter got 750k from Texas Tech. That is more than double our entire NIL budget

Insane. There is no sense in trying to compete with these schools. You’re just spinning wheels and wasting money. I’m looking forward to the day this all implodes

We’re Cajuns. We can make a mean Gumbo to feed our family for a week for about $30.

We need to have the same mentality with NIL and the Portal. Quit window shopping at River Ranch and go value shopping at your local markets.

There are plenty of guys that could contribute here that are at any SLC school and a few JUCOS.

Money ball. Unless we see a big change with the system we won’t be able to compete doing the same thing the P4 does.

JMUs hit the FCS route hard. Some say it has worked out.

Getting players with talent at FCS and Juco is going to be more the norm for many schools outside of the “power” category.

Thing is you have to keep those guys too if they succeed and other schools go fishing.

I still like the route of developing players and getting FBS guys that fit the mold.

Really don’t want to get even close to flipping a roster year over year like TXST and Coastal have done.

FCS guys wanna get paid too.

Everybody will want to get paid. The fact remains that FCS and JUCO guys are cheaper than trolling other FBS programs. North Texas has several former FCS/DII guys.

Fcs? Dez sucks at talent evaluation. If lunch was fcs Dez would have passed him up. We need a coach with an eye for talent

Can we rename this thread to “God’s Plan Season”?

This is why NIL as it stands today is broken. The enforcement of rules around NIL are non-existent. Take a look at guidance from the NCAA and tell me schools are playing by these rules.

What counts as an NIL deal?

An NIL deal is any agreement where you are compensated (money, products or services) for allowing a company, brand or person to use your name, image or likeness, such as social posts, event appearances or endorsements

Examples of NIL activities

  • Social media posts or content for a brand

  • Autograph signings, camps or clinics you host

  • Appearances in commercials or promotional events

  • Endorsement or sponsorship agreements

What’s allowed vs. not allowed

Allowed when all are true:

  • You are paid specifically for use of your NIL, such as ads, posts or appearances

  • The deal has a valid business purpose tied to a real product, service or event offered to the public

  • Compensation is within a reasonable range for people with similar fame or influence

  • You may use an agent or marketing professional for NIL activities

Not allowed:

  • Pay with no required promotional activity or deliverables

  • Agreements that say your NIL will be used later with no defined plan

  • Pay-for-play, including payment to attend or compete for a specific school or compensation for athletics participation or achievement

  • Compensation outside a reasonable range for similar deals

NIL (Name, Image, Likeness)

Is this sarcasm?

100%

I want to thank everyone…. In the best interest of my…. respect my decision…

God’s plan…
