The Future of College Football

Cause that’s where all the money is. Unfortunately, the blue bloods and the ESPN mothership doesn’t want G6 schools around. So, instead of sitting outside the club just praying for a handout, the G6 AD’s need to come together and plan a way forward. There is strength in numbers and unity.

I agree 100% @NattyDaddy. We’re going to need to see some universities and AD’s swallow their pride and lose their ego.

I really would like an explanation as to why the NCAA can’t just create a playoff like they have for every other sport. Legally, there is nothing stopping them, right? If there is no legal block, then the issue becomes financial. But, if the FCS can have a playoff, there should be no financial reason that the FBS can’t have one as well.

This needs to happen. I don’t care if the whole thing is on freakin’ Apple TV, Facebook live or ESPN8. Somebody will want to broadcast these games.

And, I think most people will be surprised by the number of mid level P4 schools who would much rather play for an NCAA title than a stupid Bowl game.

It’s time to do this.

If that much overall athletic success puts us in a bad hole, then we’ve got a shitton of serious problems.

I think the NCAA covers the majority of postseason travel expenses, though I could be wrong. Also, unless things have changed, all of the league schools chip in to offset bowl expenses.

While they are most certainly a financial drain, I don’t think UL is on the hook for the total bowl expense.

Welcome to Cajun ThREDs and thanks for posting @CajunSID!

What about something like travel to regionals or super regionals?

I hope we make it to super regionals and we turn it down to save money….would be EPIC

Prez was correct. We had no business going to this, not this year. All we did was put an even bigger target on our backs from the budget cutters.

Prez should have said no.
