I just saw that Alabama and WVU cancelled their home/home and coastal picked up the free home game and added WVU to their schedule next year
I know Dr. Maggard is working on this but since Jech is most likely going to be added to the conference next year we need 2 away games out of conference for next year
We don’t have a P4 and since the SEC is moving to 9 home games and one OOC P4 it will be difficult to schedule one
The best bet is another ACC school which only play 8 conference games but I don’t know who has an opening
A quick fix G5 would be Kent State which is an easy win
Would scheduling a Mountain West team be realistic? Preferably Colorado State or Wyoming. I’d love to see the Cajuns play in person again and those would probably be the closest schools for that. Lol
Bring back this thread because Maggard has not brought up anything when it comes to non conference scheduling for next year since Tech is in this legal dispute it might take a bit but here are the teams are also looking for a non-con and if Tech doesn’t join the conference in 2026 we might need 2 of these Army
Boise State
Colorado State
FIU
Florida Atlantic (FAU)
Florida State
Fresno State
Jacksonville State
UNLV
Which one intrigues you? One of the Florida directional schools or UNLV are at the top of my list
We need to do everything possible to schedule 2 P4 games a year vs. traditionally middle of the road programs, then 2 top G6 programs. No more FCS games.
And go on the road for all I care to make this happen! I’m fine with 5 home games more years than not.
I’d be good with a pay check at FSU. Also winnable if they don’t figure out a lot this offseason. Any other options on the road are fine as well. Florida directional school would probably be a good opportunity for a win.
This is the answer. We’ve got a rivalry going with these people. Not a bad road trip. Winnable game. Good to keep a relationship with a Texas school, particularly one in a higher conference.
