Future Football Schedules

After this season, football only has one buy game scheduled for the foreseeable future. UCF in 2027 for $1.3 million. Any word on a buy game for next year?

Also, what would y’all like to see for a LaTech replacement for next year. I’ve got my eyes on the PAC-12, as they’re only playing 7 conference games so everyone needs another game. I’d imagine we schedule a H&H with Texas State at some point.

Lsu is available next year

Wonder if they actually will schedule us. I mean it’s only been 16 years since we last played them lol.

Hope they don’t. Would be the absolute worst time to finally schedule them now that we suck again

UL needs to stop scheduling SEC teams all together. Aren’t they like 0-48,984 against the SEC?

48,985. You forgot that 2007 loss @ Tennessee.

Seems as though it is getting late in the game to actually replace the LA Tech away game on the schedule for 2026. I do believe Jax State has an opening. I wouldn’t mind a home and home with them. Texas State would be also to continue the series as it was developing into a nice rivalry in most sports.

LSU - I will take the check - but would be absolute worst time to schedule them as we are down now.

PAC or AC teams please.

We should be making a hard run at TX State.

Guaranteed win every year vs TX ST as it has been? LOL.

We should have tried to partner with TxSt and head to the PAC. It’s a better and more prestigious league.

But the PAC away games are very far from Lafayette.

Yep. Too far to travel. Can’t do it.

We are not likely going to get a big payday. Need to schedule someone where we have our best shot of getting a W. Louisiana College maybe?

Non-conference scheduling arrangement is being explored with other conferences.

The SBC needs to jump on this immediately. Much better than that MAC arrangement we have been having in all sports.

The big payday games are all but gone. SEC and Big 10 are going to 9 conference games, 3 OOC games with 2 of those having to be P4 games.

So there won’t be a whole lot of buy in games.

Which is the real reason for the expanded college football playoff. It’s not to allow more opportunity for smaller schools to sneak in, it’s to be able to create several more games at the end of they year where they can basically hand pick the matchups..

The days of “undefeated Boise State deserves a look!” are way past over. Prepare yourselves for the “4 loss Georgia is STILL better than Iowa State, and deserves to go before them!”

They’ve eliminated TV losers like LSU vs Southern, added LSU vs P4 school, and created a system where LSU can lose that game and still get in based on their resume, or their pedigree, or whatever the hell the committee decides to use.

Boise State made it as a 3 seed with 1 loss just 8 months ago, but I get your point. There won’t be a drastic shift although you can see what direction this thing will probably go in. However, as of now, a G6 still has a least 1 seat at the table so that’s something.
