Hurricane Melissa

Some live coverage. Crazy situation forming in Jamaca.

I believe this is Jeff Piotrowski’s You Tube Page. He is a storm chaser that I follow. Seen him in quite a few storms / tornados. He goes where Jim Cantore is to scared to go.

Jeff just mentioned that this is his 65th hurricane and has chased over 1,000 tornados. Dude is legit crazy.

Id find new hobbies. lol

This hurricane is a monster.

His feed just went off for a few minutes. He is running off of 100% Starlink right now and he went outside of the walls of the home that he is at. Before he went off, he showed where he is and the projected path. He should be in the eye at some point. Expecting 185+ sustained and gusts well over 200+.

Also mentioned the Cajun Navy already has assets on the ground to help after hurricane passes.

Fuuuuuuuuck allat!!

Max Velocity and Ryan Hall are both great on these big storms

Man…besides being scared shitless of a storm like that, think I’d be even more concerned about the chaos that will likely ensure on a 3rd world island that have been leveled and without power.

I hear you. For the most part, I think they will pull together. Chaos will be in big city like Kingston but it looks like the storm is going far enough west were Kingston will be spare from what could have been worst case for the island.

Power is still running there but my power goes out with 30 mph winds thanks to Entergy

Looks like Jeff lost his connection to Starlink. Winds were picking up quite a bit before he lost his feed. Roof on house across the street from where he was staying was coming off.

Ain’t any better in Ft. Bend County, TX with Centerpoint. They increased rates a few months ago to “upgrade”. So maybe it’ll now need to be 33.5 MPH winds and TWO squirrels running around to knock mine out.

Have yall started seeing reports and videos coming out of Jamaica? West side of the island is totally destroyed.

Two storm chasers on a feed I have followed for a long time said they were out. One was in Jamaica and left. The other decided not to go. When these guys say no thank you it’s beyond bad.

I spent three years in disaster recovery. Mainly hurricanes and tornadoes. Glad I’m not on that island. The recovery will be decades, not years.

Yeah, I think it will be like Haiti

Jeff is live doing damage survey. Catastrophic damage as we would expect.
