That’s kind of important.

Gotta love giving a team an out after they just gave you 2 free baserunners
We are not even competitive right now
OR…and hear me out on this…what if instead we piss down our leg and put up 1 run on Sunday pitching against a staff with a 7+ ERA. Maybe we could let a guy with a 12+ ERA slam the door shut on us in the last couple innings. Just some extra soft shit. Baby poop soft. Charmin soft. Really break out the pillows.
I may be in the minority here, but seeing Mandino do his best impersonation of a RB hitting the hole followed by Deggs blowing up on the JMU dugout was completely embarrassing. The only fight we’ve seen out of this team the last few weeks was done outside the lines.
At this rate we will definitely end up with a losing record
They did that and also lost the game the series. Insult to injury.
I have no idea what Deggs was so fired up about. Maybe seeing his team nose dive got the better of him and he didn’t want to watch anymore. Go nap on the bus.
Anybody got a video of Mandino running into 1B?
You definitely aren’t in the minority
I won’t disagree with you here. I do think the situation will be painted one sided because it was our bunch who finally exploded. JMU was an arrogant, chirpy bunch all weekend and deserved some get back from our guys. Unfortunately this bunch isn’t capable of shutting someone up on the field, so they have to resort to something else. “If you’re losing, take a bite out.” It’s a damn shame when a program that doesn’t even charge for people to attend their games can punk us, and we don’t have the ability to respond.
I agree with everything you’ve said on the subject. Just all around uncalled for. If a Troy or TXST team acted that way at The Tigue, you all would be crying like hell in the stands. And rightly so. This is not the look I want from our program.
I feel like this is a great thread to bump to the top. How things have changed in what…6 weeks?
I was wrong about who this team is. The run from Friday night TX State through Friday night USM painted a pretty strong picture. I don’t think that was just a team in a slump. That was a group who let one loss snowball into damn near a month of awful baseball. Fortunately this group woke up and decided that’s not who they were. I’ve said numerous times throughout the second half of this season that this is Deggs’ toughest group mentally yet. They left no doubt of that this past week.
Here’s the thing about Deggs. Lots a criticism seems to go his way about being possibly just a straight up a-hole. And maybe some is warranted? He certainly doesn’t seem to be a “players’ coach”.
But you have to be mentally tough to play for him, so in this day and age of no sit transfer portal, seems the dudes who are still here are the ones who are tough and will scrap and scratch and claw to win a ballgame. This team may have been one of the more frustrating ones in recent memory to watch play first half of conference weekend season, but down the stretch, they’ve been amongst the most fun to watch. They guys don’t quit. The Top of the 9th yesterday, down 11-2, showed that. I’m damn proud of this team.
He is more of a players coach than people from the outside realize.
