Cajuns down 6-1, going to top of 7th. Terrible performance by Cajuns so far. Unable to get clutch hit, numerous runners left on base (10). Not looking good.
Cajuns get leadoff homer in top of 7th to make it 6-2. Then get 3 walks to load the bases with no outs. Then fail to score again after hitting into a double play and grounding out. Game over, Cajuns lose 6-2.
If we are being truthful, the HC had to be coerced into taking the position. I think there is some young talent on the field that we can build around if we can keep them.
I’ve been wondered that since she was hired. Habetz was out of coaching and I’ve felt like convincing her to help out her Alma mater when they just got gut punched was very emotionally driven.
I don’t know a thing. Just a theory.
The hire felt great at the time. But this program is a hollow shell of what it was for decades. They had survived a blow like that once Lotief was fired, ushered some of our best players away from the program and Gerry was brought on. Thought history would be on their side.
Softball was one of my favorite sports to watch. I can’t turn it on now. Just following the live stats is no fun.
