Going up by 14 at half is bigger than one would think at the time. Not scoring game JMU a much needed shot in the arm and all the momentum. Scoring right there would have been 14 points in less than 3 minutes to end a half.
I also think there is a reason Flowers is playing S and not CB. Little I saw of the game, his coverage was pretty bad. Got beat multiple times for TDs.

We can go back and forth on whether or not we should’ve taken the 3 points or go for the TD (most of you already know my stance on it), but in the end either way we came up with 0 points. That helped JMU go into the locker room with all of the momentum knowing that they would get the ball to start the second half. Once they scored to begin the 3rd quarter to tie it, I pretty much knew we were in trouble. We were completely outcoached in the 2nd half.
Getting kept out of the end zone to end the second half was a backbreaker. We gave JMU exactly what they wanted the momentum and talking points to get them fired up for the second half. JMU came out ready to execute and grab the lead and never look back. We came out inept, and our coaching staff couldn’t recognize the opportunities the JMU defense was giving us.
