I need someone who is or was involved with the program after 2021 to explain to me if a coaching search was conducted properly.
There is no evidence that supports any of this and if there really wasn’t one then Maggard must be let go. Other than probably 2 hires his decision making in finding head coaches has been abysmal. Scott Farmer would’ve made better hires than this dude.
The other finalists was a FCS coach from down the bayou. Maggard never left the state for this hire.
Heard from a prominent former athlete yesterday that there was a “big name” in line, but we went with the internal hire. No elaboration on the name. Just the messenger.

I heard we were close to hiring Jimmy Johnson but Jerry Jones made a call to Dr.Maggard…..the rest is history.
