Hope they don’t ask Bob to take over scheduling duties

But the Rebounders Club told me Bob was talking to Kansas and Oklahoma…

Ah well, you know what they say… Ya can’t out spend North Florida. They always get their man.

We should add North Florida as the ULM replacement should they drop since their basketball program will have such a winning head coach.

Karen Hayes will pitch in for their conference buyout to join the SBC.

He’ll be scared to schedule West Florida.

Coach Marlin will be the Associate Head Coach at North Florida. HC is a rookie and he was looking for an experienced guy to be on the bench next to him. North Florida is a non football playing D1 basketball school which participates in the Atlantic Sun Conference.

I don’t know which other schools he had discussions with. I do know a little more time in Florida gets him into Florida retirement system and Jacksonville is 4 hours from his wife’s beach condo. Personally I wish him well and am ready to focus on our new goals.

Is it common for coaching giants.. nay, LEGENDS, to turn down jobs at Kansas and Oklahoma to assist rookie HCs at freshly minted D1 basketball programs?

I’m as excited about MBB as anyone. I mostly don’t GAF what Bob does post Cajuns. But it’s worth mentioning anytime a coach ends up at a different program. Helps complete the circle and brings closure.

Especially when that coach and his orbit conned so many people here, they decided to make it personal with a segment of our fans; to the point where those fans were summarily ostracized. All for seeing through the BS.

That’s some Marlinite talk right there.:grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Good luck to them. Time to move forward to the next chapter of Ragin Cajun basketball.

Good for them, sounds like they both returned to their roots.

I’m happy for them and happy for myself. Because now I can purchase basketball season tickets again after a 3 or 4 year absence from the Cajundome..

Has anyone been made aware of the season ticket sales now that marlin swam his way out of town? Generally curious. All the stuff I’ve seen/heard has been an overall increase but I’m trying to find concrete numbers.

The entire staff from last season have found new employment. Neil Hardin remains at UL in a non athletic academic advisor role. All others are still in basketball. Coach Zimmerman is the lead assistant at ULM, Phillip Shumpert is at Southern, Casey Perrin is at Cleveland State, and video coordinator Cole Wakefield is the NIL Director at Texas Tech. Former player, Kentrell Garnett is also at Texas Tech in a grad assistant coaching position. I have always been told coaching is a fraternity and your enemy today is your employer tomorrow. These people moving on is evidence of that.
