2025 RCAF Parking & Tailgate Manual

You mean to tell me, we can’t have this at tailgates? This is when Cajun Nation was having the most fun 🤟 pic.twitter.com/AH13zD40MJ

Appreciate it, was trying to figure that out lol

A sophisticated, academic atmosphere > “fun” any day of the week. Priorities people.

That photo is dripping with liability

Looks like fun

Liable to create a fun and exciting gameday event.

Who knew the Bustle Era was GOATed

As much as the term #cULture gets thrown around we don’t embrace it on gameday.

This gives off R2 vibes. To trashy and fun.

Wow- that’s what our tailgate scene used to be like . I don’t know if we will ever see it come back unfortunately

Beer pong tables in every one of those pictures :joy:

Serious question- did the admin intentionally kill tailgating or was it incompetence?

They’ll tell you it’s liability. The truth is, it’s somewhere between desperation for money, fear of public embarrassment and liability.

I remember the days when our Krewe de Chew was going strong. Cooked a pig on an open fire for Homecoming for a few years and never a word said. I do understand the no open flames restrictions now, but man, just let the Cajun people show up and do there thing! Needing to provide a “manual” on tailgating is crazy!

That’s just the student side so I can only imagine what the other side was like.

I remember during the Toothpick years, Frats would bring their entire living room and fridge to home side of Cajun Field. Yes, fridge. Some had used their fridge as an ice chest. Put it on its back and fill it up with ice.

One game a group setup a swimming pool. They had Lafayette fire department come on Friday night and fill up the pool. Sad part. On Sat, it was a sausage fest in the pool. Guess the thought was there. haha

Now they have the students corraled in a fenced in area with close supervision…. And wonder why they don’t show up in the same way anymore

Whatever they are going for has translated to way less people showing up on gamedays. Nickeling and diming the tailgating setups has to be a net negative for overall revenue I’d imagine

I think that swimming pool was done more than once. I jumped in one of the games…but yeah…not toI many females joined.

THIS!!! B-I-N-G-O!!! We have one of the most recognized cultures in the world and do next to NOTHING to capitalize on it.

They make it difficult at times to defend them or meet them half-way. Some of these restrictions are common sense to anyone that has tailgated elsewhere over the years. And some things should be common sense and apparent. I haven’t been part of purchasing a tailgating area in 15 years. I wouldn’t even try today.
