I’d be curious to know the population change data for the City of Lafayette, versus the outlying cities. I’ll need to do some digging. The population growth outside of the city is also making the Lafayette’s core issue even more difficult.
Hopefully when Johnston Street gets reworked, the execution is better than the clusterfuck that was created on University from I-10 to Cameron street 
Speaking of bikeable paths, whatever happened to the VELOOP initiative? Land was cleared and leveled a couple of years ago to connect Moncus Park to West Bayou (near rotary point) via bike paths but work was abruptly stopped before the path was completed. With South College being very unbikeable (safely) the cut through to Moncus Park would be very helpful to those who ride bikes in the city core
I heard a rumor that some NIMBY’s on Shannon Rd. put up a big fuss about it, but the stoppage coincided with our current MP taking office

A lot of lights and cameras should obviously be in the plan, right?

I’ve ridden my mountain bike on that path a few times but it’s always been at night so it’s very dark and can be muddy. The cattle gate at the back of the Moncus Park property is always locked but not too hard to get my bike over it
I’d like to see the path completed at some point though
