“We have the fastest wide receiver room ever” Leger

If that is true why do we struggle to get separation from the likes of Rice and Mcnesse? Could it be poor route running? If so then you know who’s at fault there right.

I didn’t catch all of Beale/CMD post-game presser. But they did mention timing and route step counts as issues.

Could the staff’s passing game plan be too complicated? Need the former players ( @Cajun4life ) to chime in on that possibility.

It can’t be too complicated. Seems like we run the same route trees every play. I know that isn’t true but I don’t see any creativity this year. Last year they drew up some really good plays. Passing game from the wake forest and Tulane games were top notch. Our OL didn’t hold up against the wave otherwise Ben shreds that secondary. Bottom line is we need the routes to be simple for the QB sake and the OL needs to hold on for dear life.

I was thinking the exact same thing!!! If we have so much speed, why can we not get any separation! Geaux Cajuns!!!

We have a pretty simple passing game. The checks and game plan dictate a lot of things. But also the RPO is basically a 3 read play. Read the keyed defensive player, handoff or pass, generally a one read pass.

I’m a much bigger proponent of the power run and shoot offense that Stokely or Spurrior ran. A much more dynamic and complex passing game. It just takes time to digest that style of system and requires a lot of player development.

In that same press conference he also said that Michael Jefferson was the only kid to ever clock over 21 in the helmet GPS. I personally know a kid at that time that clocked 21.9 in the helmet. Thats part of the reason why I take everything he says with a grain of salt.

Welcome! Glad you were able to figure it out.

This is the good stuff.

And it was actually a good grab on a bad ball.

Southside has a junior RB that we need to sign here.
