Support it or not, AL was a hit around the tailgate area. Kids flocked to him. Pictures are all over social media. At minimum, heās forced this jackleg administration either act or get run over.

My son spent most of the game in the northeast corner of the hill, and the Bobcat guy kept coming over and high-fiving them every time Texas State scored
I asked him why he kept celebrating with the other teamās mascot and he said āI couldnāt find oursā
Wonder if it would be possible to get Al into away games. Basketball vs McNeese this Friday and a game against Tech coming Dec 13th.

I was not a fan of the idea originally, but as @MAT has pointed out time and time again, mascots are for the kids, not the grown-ups. And thereās no denying that AL was the freakinā Beatles to these lil Cajun kids.
I hope his physical presence softens people up over time, like it has for me. Anything to enhance the cULture.
He definitely looks better in person than in the pictures. Our kids got some pics with him. They loved him as did all the kids I saw come into contact with him.
My daughter wouldnāt stop asking me if the āalligatorā was coming into the game after she took a picture with him. Al was huge hit this weekend.
Anyone else see the segment on Fox 15 tonight? Gotta love the comment from the fun police that is UL that Al has no involvement with the university and never will.

Want to set the record straight across all forums
This headline is extremely disappointing because the reporter actually had the opportunity to say something different than what is out there already. Hereās what the headline should have said: Albineaux Gains Traction With Fans Despite Lack of UL Approval.
The headline is also wrong. UL canāt reject something Iām not actively pitching to them. Iām pitching to you. The reader. I care more about all of you (people who I eat, drink, dance, serve, and go to church with) than anyone whoās job is to just say no. Oh wait, thatās not their job. Itās suppose to be improving our university, YET here we are broke and still unable to fill our brand new half stadium.
What should have been in this article is Al teaching a hundred sum kids how to do the UL hand sign. What should have been in this article is countless parents coming up to Al and thanking him for being there, for giving their children a memory to hold on to. What should have been in this article is, unlike UL, who will beg you for more money to support a 6-6 football team and a 1-8 basketball team, all Iām asking for is for your approval and for you to join me in sharing a enthusiasm for the Ragin Cajuns.
Truth is, anyone in that office, or any naysayer for that matter, can say ānoā so much that their face turns blue. But if they spent just five minutes at tailgates as Albineaux, theyāll see all the joy he brings to the kids there, and how irresponsible this administration has been by not having a spirit leader.
