One topic we already knew of but two others are very interesting.

  • UL Presidential Search
  • Rescission of President Emeritus and related matters (T-Joe)
  • Resolution authorizing the System President and staff to conduct preliminary due diligence on the feasibility, cost, and benefits of a transforming the UL System into a full vertically integrated university system.

Not good. Guess weā€™ll wait to see their plan and then draw conclusions.

So which schools would become the feeder school, junior college and all the other things?

Being that we have been failing at recruiting and fiscal responsibility, you can bet your ass we wonā€™t be at the top of the vertical ladder.

In your opinion, who would be?

To me, it would either be us or Tech. Tech has a black eye right now with pending litigation with CUSA. No idea how much that would play into things. Maybe the R1 designation is in our favor with a fresh start today?

Well. We have a new Interim President. I thought he was impressive in his address. Anyone in the know have some information theyā€™d like to share on his credentials/background?

Dr. Kolluru previously held the position of Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Economic Development at UL. He also helped lead the university to becoming a Carnegie R1 institution.

Interim President. A national search will be conducted.

We have another Interim President while they complete a search. Basically, we trying him in place to show how well he can do the job. Then after the ā€œsearchā€ less people will complain if heā€™s given the job full time.

They have to do a search just like a coaching job but the majority of the time thereā€™s already a name in place. Heā€™s the best person for the job. Heā€™s a big proponent of athletics, he wants to grow enrollment, I donā€™t know what more you could want
