I’ve never been more excited to hear the spin placed on something than I am this morning. It’s gonna be like Christmas all day as it rolls in. Jay, Des, Maggard, the apologists here. I hope you all take a turn. Tell me about the grit. Tell me about the resiliency. Tell me about the refusal to give up in the face of adversity. Talk to me about starting 2-6 and rallying to finish 6-6. Talk to me about the injuries. Talk to me about 8 straight bowl appearances. Say things like, “it’s starting to remind me of TigerDroppings in here with how unappreciative our fans are.” Talk to me about NIL and the transfer portal and the changing landscape and how we can’t be expected to compete like we used to. I am here for ALL of it! Talk dirty to me!
They can talk about the grit, determination, fight and resiliency all they want. Do I appreciate those attributes? Yes. Does that mean we are a good football team. No.
You can have all the flattering characteristics but the bottom line is winning football games. 3 out of the last 4 years we have lost more than we won. Last year we went out with a dud. Most of this year we looked lost. And next year will more than likely be worse.
I appreciate everything that these coaches and players have done. But it’s not working. If Des wants redemption he needs to hire a qualified OC and step the fack back. If he doesn’t then you will continue to see the crap that we put on the field last night and for the majority of the year.
i thought we turned the corner last year but this year proved everything that was previously said. Des needs to evolve and not say “we fought back to get to 6 wins so what we are doing is working.”. He needs to make big changes on this staff and hire qualified offensive coaches and let them run it. I trust he can be a good HC, I don’t trust he can be the OC and be a good HC.
It’s time to hang the banner, Cajun Nation! We successfully navigated a 13-game season to finish exactly one game under .500. It takes a special kind of dedication to qualify for eight straight bowl games just to ensure we finish the season with another losing record.
Excellence? No. But consistency in keeping us humble? Unmatched.
6-7. Honestly, it’s a tactical masterclass. Just enough wins to make us watch, just enough losses to make us regret it. If you win too many games, people expect too much. We are simply managing expectations for next year. Our athletics administrators are playing 4D chess while everyone else is playing football. You’re welcome, Cajun Nation.
So ungrateful. Don’t you understand that we made 8 straight bowls like Ohio State, Georgia, and Alabama have done? I think we should add a R1 banner next to all of our championship banners for next season. That’ll make you feel better.
Just keep holding the line, degenerates. You’ll be called a negative fan for it, but in today’s society, we need more people that hold leaders to a standard, and continue to demand production from them.
The talking heads and “fans” of this university, that blindly accept mediocrity and the status quo, are a cancer. These same people would rather criticize the passionate fans like us that push the issue. We are told that we should just shut up, be grateful, give more money, and to go apply for coaching jobs if we think we could do better. For these people, excuses and cherry-picked factoids are used to remedy any glaring issues, and keep fans quiet. After all, if you say something enough, it will eventually be viewed as public truth, right?
At the end of the day, these leaders get PAID (very well) to perform. It’s their job to do so, from the AD all the way down to the support staff. If you work in athletics at a public university, in an area of the country with extremely strong-willed people, you should expect to be held accountable for continuously not living up to a winning standard.
There’s a video on social media similar to this clip, it’s comparing Brian Kelly vs Nick Saban after an ugly win. I want the Will Wade and Nick Saban energy. Demand excellence, not participation trophies.
