Won’t be shocked if the new AD or what ever title they give them won’t be actually sworn in until next school year, so there will be enough time for them to figure out what they will need and which coaches they will keep.

Would Donnie Wallace be of interest?
I had a couple of classes with Donnie back in the 80’s at UL. Real nice guy but I don’t know if he would have any interest in being an AD.
We need someone who can bring some energy to the program in a time where the whole university has gotten a lot of negative press. I’m thinking to a similar time when Hud took over in 2011. He brought a sense of excitement to the community before the team even kicked off. And this was coming off 15 years with one winning season.
We need someone similar in the AD role to get the community excited and locked in.

Going to take a lot repairing the bridges burned the last 10 years. Athletic, RCAF, Lierfield, and the University have their work cut for them…time for each group to get in their cars, hit each parish in Acadiana as well as businesses in BR and Nola that sell product or services in Acadiana. Ask questions and have a solution to repair relationships.

Exactly NONE of these things will be done by the University. Its mediocrity all the way down.

Who are the realistic candidates here?
They better call Niko. But he’s going to say no because of the money.
Who else?
I’m sure Nico will get a phone call to at least see if he’s interested. This will also be a time for Trey Frazier to show what he can while he is the interim AD.
I would also call Heath Schroyer at TSAB with all of the local connections he has around this area especially when he was AD at McNeese.

I’m glad because he may be leading the athletic dept for a good while until we figure this whole thing out.
When are we going to hear a statement from our new University President stating his commitment to athletics and transparency with the national AD search? This is his opportunity to lead us into the future. We have a national university that needs an athletic department to match our high academic standards and performance.

I think we all want to a statement regarding athletics, however that statement may not come anytime soon. We love UL, but we have problems.
We need a healthy dose of honesty right now. UL saw its enrollment numbers decrease under T-Joe, while spending increased. Leadership created a major deficit that it is going to take time to crawl out of, while also looking for increased revenue for the future. Athletics took a major hit due to the financial irresponsibility of T-Joe.
Athletics has not only lost Bryan Maggard, @geauxnick covered the full scope of losses in the Athletics Department here Louisiana’s Bone Thin Athletics Staffing is Cause for Concern and the losses are crippling. Dr. Kolluru is facing a monumental task of not only righting the financial ship but attempting to build a revenue strategy for the future. Attracting a new AD is going to be difficult, first we need to determine what we can afford for said AD, and we also need to find funding to build a team around that AD. Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of printing money, and we’ve missed on building our pool of donors.
I don’t want a speech from Dr. Kolluru; I want a strategy for the future athletics.
