We’re back to look ahead to a new year with new potential on the horizon for Louisiana athletics. We’ll talk about the football portal, and what key losses and gains the Cajuns are expected to have this year, chat about basketball after their latest conference losses, get started with baseball talk, and give our opinions on what we think will go right… and wrong… for Louisiana in the new year.
On the topic of baseball, I cant agree with @NattyDaddy enough. My entire life has always revolved around baseball in one form or fashion. Still does. This is the 1st year that I have not been excited about Cajuns baseball in the 20+ years as a season ticket holder.
With the way 2025 has gone, I cannot get hyped up. No propaganda will change that. I am going into this season with the mindset that I will be going to The Tigue to watch the sport that I love. Any positive on the field is a bonus.
I have said many times and I’m afraid that this will be the theme for the year. “A bad day at the baseball field is better than a good day at work.”
Truly appreciate all of you that tune in weekly. The RR guys put serious thought into each topic that gets talked about, and do a great amount of research and homework. Couple that with a “Speak from the heart, emotions on you sleeve” approach about the university we all love, and the product speaks for itself.
I do want to address something that has weighed on my heart since the last show. While talking about Zeon, and his jumping around to Houston, Southern, and now Tulane (#AllGloryToGod), I made the comment that God has more important things to worry about than college football. I misspoke, and it could not be further from the truth. Let Francisco Mendoza and Mario Christobal’s postgame comments be the evidence of that. Endlessly praising God on national TV, on the biggest stage. College football, and sports in general, are a global unifier. God gives these coaches and athletes incredible opportunities daily, on and off the field. His reach is endless, and that definitely includes football.
My frustration is with using God on social media to justify any and all personal decisions, including those that are influenced by money, and include bad faith. Giving someone your word, then going back on it days later, is not #GodsPlan.
I’m sure I’ll touch a little more on this in our next episode. Grateful for you degenerates!
I think most of us understood exactly where you were coming from. Most will agree.
To me it comes down to sincerity. Its overused so much in a social media post, I know I have gotten numb to the #AllGloryToGod hashtag(s). Maybe its just because we do not know the true emotion involved in the post since they have all become generic.
My opinion, there is a huge difference in a generic social media post that we all know are coming versus Mendoza’s post-game speech. You could feel the emotion in his voice. He was sincere.
Where is the sincerity in a kids social media post when he is jumping ship for the 3rd or 4th or 7th time? We are living in a different world my friends. These kids are being taught from a young age, when adversity hits, just move on to an easier situation. Adults in the room have enabled this.
Life is tough. Sometimes it’s better to be still and grow where you are in life. It’s just gonna be tough for this new generation to ever get ahead the way their brains are being trained. The world and our country has changed a lot and still changing at a rapid pace. I don’t know how people get by without God and faith in today’s world. Prayers works!
