Will be interesting to see what the salary is. I think that depends on if the job opening is for “Athletic Director” or “VP of Intercollegiate Athletics”
Interested vs qualified are two totally different things.
Give the job to the tight end coach
Go get Hud
Hear me out: Louis Cook
This is going to be a tough hire. Budget issues, lack of staff and a need for an overhaul in how we generate revenue and build a donor pool are just some of the challenges that await the next AD.
For those wanting to hire Nico Yantko, his most recent contract amendment at Murray State guarantees him an annual income of $650,000.
Nope!
Critical moment in time for our sports programs. New blood, with the right person is what we need, but I’m worried we will just USL this thing…again.
I heard Maggard recommended the janitor that cleans his office. He will just need time to learn on the job.
**Nico Yantko, the Director of Athletics at Murray State University, would be a great hire for Louisiana! Yantko has served as Murray State’s athletic director since September 2022. Before returning to his alma mater, he was the Deputy Athletic Director at the University of Louisiana and previously held athletic administration roles at the University of Missouri and NC State.
We deserve visionary leadership, and I believe Nico is the right person to return as Athletic Director. Nico brings the intelligence, experience, energy, and passion needed to lead a successful athletic program. Beyond his impressive accomplishments, he has an outgoing personality that connects with student-athletes, coaches, alumni, donors, and fans alike. He understands what it takes to build relationships, inspire confidence, and move a program forward.
Leadership matters, and Nico has consistently demonstrated the character, professionalism, and vision that make great athletic departments thrive. I would be excited to see him return to Louisiana and continue building on the cULture.**
He makes $650k at Murray State, not happening.
Dr. Bryan Maggard, Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (UL), earns an annual base salary of approximately $473,000. Due to recent university budget deficits, he took a temporary 15% pay reduction, which temporarily lowered his take-home pay to around $402,000.
With that said, Niko is outside of our budget, unless we find money under the sofa cushions.
Didnt Maggard make $400k as the AD and then also got hired as the Vice President of Presidency or some bulls***
Frazier was a terrible hire. Does not fit here at all. Hopefully we get moving on a new AD rather quickly.
He hasn’t done crap with RCAF
Yall act surprised that Trey is named interim AD.
Nothing surprises me. I thought it may have been Jessica Leger instead.
Im actually more surprised at how fast the school is running to people like Kevin Foote to post articles about how confident they are in Trey. Its the same BS they pulled with Des.
